what do you think of JRockers? crazy? insane?? hate 'em? love 'em? my fave is Do As Infinity, they did two of the Inuyasha themes, Fukai mori and Shinjitsu no Uta. i also like yoko kanno (love yoko kanno! her music is so cool!) the seatbelts, l'arc en ciel, psycho le c'mue and......i'll add more later

I wouldn't classify DAI under J-rock, but anyways, my favourites are:

Luna Sea - Best. J-rock. Band. EVAR. 5 members with superb musical knowledge. It can't get better than this. Loved all their albums. My favourite member is Inoran, but Sugizo is great as well. Sugi has a new band called "The Flame".

X-Japan - I own all their 'real' major albums, pretty damn good, but Yoshiki is a prick sometimes, and his songwriting gets repetitive too. But this is great music here. The lead guitarist, hide, is one of my favourite Japanese songwriters. Taiji as well, but he left the band.

Kuroyume/SADS (Kiyoharu) - Kiyoharu is probably -the- most respectable figure in J-rock. And that is with a reason.

The Back Horn - Relatively new band. I like their style a lot.

Onmyouza - If I had to classify, probably "power metal". A crossover between Japanese traditional music and heavy metal. Strong music here.

Loudness - This one is a famous one back in the 80s.


There are a few more, actually... I know I'm missing some out.. aaarggghhh... Okay well, I liked Dir en Grey's Kisou, but their recent stuff has been sh*t. I only like one song from GLAY, two from Pierrot, and only a handful from L'arc. No comment on MM or Gackt.

Yeah, mostly older stuff. Not that I know every old band, though. I would like to check out Buck-Tick. And 'Seagull Screaming Kiss Her Kiss Her'.... and TMGE.. .aaahhhh too many things to discover.

ANYWAYS.... Luna Sea is GODLY.

anyway, yeah, luna sea are really cool, where do you buy all your jrock cds moebius??? they are nonexistant in australia! i mostly download them. and so many bands i have never heard of @_@ @_@

Or you can "acquire" them through downloading. hahaha.. That's the best way to try out new bands.

I did mention Dir en Grey.. I liked "Kisou" as well as their older albums "Macabre".. but not their recent stuff.

a jrock band i hate is.....POLYSICS!!!! (or however it's spelt) i HATE them!!! they just screech and don't even sing!!! :ranting:

WAH! The first J-rocker I ever heard was Miyavi or Mivabi (It depends on whether you use his Le'Quartz name or not) and that was it, I started to like j-rock music.
My fav Japanese band is definately DAI because I love Tomiko Van's voice and I really want to be able to sing at the capacity she does (Not to mention Ryo rocks on guitar!). I can't spell the name so I'll just say I like that Cmue band, one their clips was awesome...but I can't remember the name of the song...lol
