So far i have...

Ceasar 3 (casino game...only cost me 1 buck  )
Final Fantasy Tactic Advanced
Puzzle Fighter

um...what kind of game you might ask? um...the kind of game that's not LONG like FFTA. RPG is okay...just basically anything.

Oh can you add whether the game is RPG, First-person Action or Strategy...etc please?? thank you!!

I'm not one for GBA games, but Castlvania is just one of those games that really makes me spend some quality time with my GBA. Banjo-Kazooie: Grunties Revenge is fun also, or at least for me it was. A bit short, but really fun. A few magazines said it was bad, but I disagree and thought it quite good.

here we go, if you like rpg's Golden Sun and Golden Sun 2: The lost age are great, i've beaton them both. another good rpg is Fire Emblem.

Yes, i own and have beaton 100% Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, that game was so great...a real sleeper hit i've heard.

and i also love metroid fusion and metroid: Zero mission, good ol' side scrolling metroid, the way it was meant to be! hehe.

You also cannot go wrong w/ Super mario advance 2: Mario World...oh god, that game is a classic...snes owned...i remember playing that when i was like 5...good times...

well, i hope i could be of some help :) cya round

I'm a Megaman fanboy (well, sort of), so I guess I have to recommend the Rockman Zero series [Action] (can get really frustrating) and the Megaman Battle Network series [RPG] (not so frustrating, but it has its times). Fire Emblem [Strategy] is a rather nice game as well. Pity these games are rather long (I've no idea how long FFTA is, so . . . ) . . .

Here's a short list of games anyone with a GBA should own.

Fire Emblem- Awesome Tactics RPG. Excellent writing and story. Great characters.

Advance wars- Turn based strategy. Not quite as good as Fire Emblem but excellent multiplayer. Multiplayer can also be played on just one GBA.

Golden Sun and Golden Sun 2- Excellent old-school RPGs. However, if you buy one you might as well buy the other since they're one continuous story.

Mario and Luigi:Superstar Saga- Awesome RPG. Very much like Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario but better in my opinion. Surprisingly good writing for a mario game.

Castlevania:Circle of the Moon/Castlevania:Harmony of Dissonance/Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow.

All great games. Circle of the moon has the best music but more primitive gameplay then the others. Aria of Sorrow is probably the best but it's hard to find a copy of.

Metroid:Fusion/Metroid:Zero Mission

Both deserving of the Metroid name which says very good things about them. Fusion is a little too linear and Zero mission is a remake of the first metroid (plus about 30% new stuff after the ending of the first metroid) but those things shouldn't stop you from buying these.

Wario Ware- Insane fun. hundreds of minigames that last no more than 5 seconds each. Sounds stupid but is an highly addictive play experience.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong- Classic Donkey Kong gameplay, what's not to love.

This should be a good start. I'll add anything I think of later. I haven't mentioned any of the SNES or NES ports but some of those are worth looking at too.

haha, i know i said i have a lot of GBA games and have beaton most of them but i need a new one...my friend says he'll lend me The mario rpg for gba, but it just...doesn't sound good...i dunno, i guess i have to try it, but after i played the metroids and the golden suns out there, i went into the gaming store near me and became somewhat dissapointed because i realized how many low quality games were out there.....but i love my SP and want...Need a new game to play!

lol, yep so i guess thats it

If you liked Supr Mario RPG, you'll love Mario and Luigi:Superstar Saga. Even if you didn't like Super Mario RPG, give it a shot anyway because it's still and excelent RPG by any standard. Just don't expect it to be overly dramatic, it's mario so it stays fairly lighthearted but is genuinely funny in places. Oh, and I've said it before but bothe Advance wars and Fire Emblem are great choices assuming you're up for a little tactics.

Tactics Ogre: the Knights of Lodis? I've always tried to find that game but it seemed to have a very limited production and disappeared where I live almost right away. I played through some of it on a friends copy but didn't get to the end. Was teh last bit good?

i loved it... when you finish it you want to replay immediately cause its so good. i started replaying it, got 3/4 thru and then my mom thru the GBA with the game out the window. *sigh* so many sleepless nights gone to waste :)

Ogre Tactics Advance

is it like final fantast tactics kinda? where you build and expand your territory?

I heard my friend said it's a good game too, but for some reason i can't seem to find it. <.< guess vancouver just really not importing a lot of this game...not even EB (Electronic Boutique, a great video game store.) has it.... :(

Mario yep i'm definitely checking them out. Mario RPG i played it on SNES, don't really like it. 1 game for sure is Mario World 3 (i think...cuz there are just too many of these mario world thingy)

I seen Fire Emblem in stores a couple times but is the graphics good? cuz when i look on the back of the box of the game it doesn't looks like it has good graphics...

The artwork in it is really good and the graphics in the battles are quite good and extremely fluid. The overworld doesn't need much graphic polish but it isn't offensive to the eyes. I'd recommend Fire Emblem above Tactics Ogre. Tactics Ogre is much more the FF Tactics school of tactics though. It can be quite hard to find around Vancouver area, I haven't seen it at all around here since it was released. Also, I don't know if they still have it going but a few months ago Nintendo of Canada had a deal going where you could buy Metroid Zero Mission and get Fire Emblem free. I wasn't completely clear on the details because I had already bought Fire Emblem but it's worth checking into.

By the way, you may want to be careful with EB because in Canada especially they tend to overprice a lot of their stuff. If you can find the game at Costco or Walmart it's anywhere from $3-$10 cheaper.

I liked pretty much every Super Mario Advanced that came out... I have all but the first one =\

Edit: But sma4:smb3 is teh pwn. That's all I have to say. Classic Zelda is also a good investment. I'm praying for CT/EB/FF2/3/4j/6j to come out. Any one of them would be just fine ^_^ Golden Sun, Advanced Wars, and their sequels are both equally good from what I hear.

Wow, I just feel like granting wishes today so here (http://gameboy.ign.com/objects/479/479100.html) is part of it. Enjoy your FFII, it should eventually be coming out here. They've only released it what, 3 or 4 times.

As to the real topic, I'd say the port of Link to the Past is more worth it. Especially if you have a link cable because of Four Swords. It's really extremely fun and you only need one copy of the game. (GBA version of Four Swords not GCN)

Despite the rather childish association, and the kiddy image, Pokemon Sapphire wasn't overally too bad. It definately made many improvements upon the classic games, and is great for a time waster. However, I doubt anything will equal the original games.

I suggest you check em out though. It's the Anime that's bad, not the games, <s>well maybe Pokemon Stadium and Snap</s>...

My bad, I'm sure Square Enix will re-release those as well considering how well FFI-II is selling in Japan. They like their re-releases almost as much as Nintendo.

Edit: I always forget about Pokemon. Can't complain about those either but the third in the set of games is coming I believe so it may make sense to hold of for that. (third in the set being like yellow and crystal)

I believe Pokemon Fire Red and Pokemon Leaf Green will be coming out very soon. Heard they were remakes of the original, so you can catch all the original Pokemon in full GBA glory. Third in the set of Ruby/Sapphire is actually Pokemon Emerald which I think is being released in Japan soon with a Limited Edition SP. Not sure what makes it any different to Ruby and Sapphire though. Maybe you can catch more Pokemon, cause R/S were missing alot of the original guys.

EDIT: Haha, fun with colours ~

Do you know if Fire Red and Leaf Green are coming packaged with the wireless adapter?

Actually now that you ask, I think so.

Heres a good site with alot of the new features specifically for Fire Red and Leaf Green. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/frlgfeatures.html

Okay i've decided to buy harvest moon, and maybe Mario World 3.

Then i'm thinking of getting Metroid (is Metroid Zero Mission the newest?), and maybe Fire Emblem

Elite666
August 11th, 2004, 09:13 pm
Zero Mission is the newest. It's a retelling of the first Metroid with a whole bunch of new stuff thrown in. I'd recommend it above Fusion but either one is good.

Okay, everybody has said these already I think..

Golden Sun/Golden Sun: The Lost Age. Great RPGs, need both to complete the game entirely. Really good graphics for such a small screen. ^_^

Final Fantasy Tactics. Might seem a bit repetitive, but really long game play life, and just good fun. ~

If there's one sma game to get it would definitely be sma4:smb3. Don't confuse sma3 with sma4!

[Admin edit: Removed] Good games are:

Onimusha tactics(strategy/rpg)
Shining force(omg great game, somewhat like fire emblem)
Shining soul 1 and 2 (great linear rpgs)
FFTA (like fftactics for psx)
Gundam SD force, or SEED battle assault. (fighting)
Kirby series...mm cute game.
And more

You may want to read the rules. You're not supposed to mention illegal software. Also, some people find actually supporting an industry is worth it not to mention the point of a GBA is to be portable, a computer isn't.

Yoshinobu
August 12th, 2004, 08:21 pm
But, roms are legal if you own the original game... right? Because I lost Golden Sun: The Lost Age so I played a rom instead.

Elite666
August 12th, 2004, 08:25 pm
I believe it's still legal that way (I'm not sure if Nintendo has also copyrighted GBA emulators) but Vocalist obviously wasn't talking about finding replacement roms.

August 12th, 2004, 09:34 pm
Well, can't always prove that somebody has the original game etc. So that link there was illegal. We won't allow anything like that here, thank you.

Neerolyte
August 13th, 2004, 04:54 am
oh wow lots of people agreed on Golden Sun...

Shining Force does look pretty good...

X_X so hard to decide!!!

Elite666
August 13th, 2004, 04:57 am
Shining Force is just a slightly dressed up port of the Genesis game, I'd go for fire Emblem first. Its gameplay is deeper, its story is better, its music is better, it's just the better game. However, better Shining Force than Shining Soul. Shining Soul 2 is Okay but Shining Soul 1 sucks.

Edit: If you enjoyed 16-bit classic RPG's you can't do any better than Golden Sun.

shining force was ok
i liked it at first
but when i found it was tactics
i was like
i'm not gonna waste too much time on this!
then i went for harvest moon
played for a while
my friend suggested it to me
shining soul 2 is a fun game i liked

I think GBA is kinda suckin right now. There aren't that many good games out for it. While I wait for good games I burn my milk money on the cube... I hope they get some good games for it soon... Does the DS (new Nintendo handheld) play the same cartriges...
