Writing Guidelines
1. WRITE IN ENGLISH not Japanese, Korean, Chinese or whatever, but if you insist, provide an English translation.
2. Work co-operatively:
a. You may ask others to edit, proofread and etc… but don’t post on the thread, do it via PM, MSN, and etc…
b.*If* we do split it into parts: There will be no deadline(s) for writings, but you should complete one piece before starting another but if you can’t, you must tell the leaders your progress and they will approve accordingly (i.e. we will let you start another if you have 80% of your piece done, but if you have just 3 sentences, then no)
3. If you use any information from any websites, books or whatever, cite the sources used.
4. Before you start writing, all of you must agree on a theme for the story (includes the composers because they’re composing on your story, which is based on the theme you choose)
5. Have fun!!!
Instructions on Writing
1. Come up with a theme for the story together with the composers, as they’re making the song for the story, so they should have a say on the theme.
2. Agree on a setting and the characters. The setting includes the geographic location and the time era. The characters should include the main characters and the supporting characters.
3. Make the basic plotline of the story. You should all do this together, as you’re all writing the story. The plotline should include the background information (or introduction), the rising action, the climax, the falling action and the conclusion. (Remember that this is only to help you get started. If you do not wish to include everything, then by all means you don’t have to.)
Dot’s Note: You may split the characterization, settings, plot, or whatever so that you can work in smaller groups. If you want this to be done clearly, you may ask us to split you people into smaller groups or whatnot… But if you think you can manage on your own, feel free to do whatever.
4. Start writing the story. Follow the plotline, the setting and the characters and it shouldn’t be too hard. Contact each other when you make progress (not on the threads, as it would be too clogged). Talk via instant messengers or private messages (if possible, also use Ichigo’s Chatroom). You could either write individual chapters/parts and piece the story together, write the story together or decide to write in some other ways, but tell the leaders first.
Dot’s Note: You may split the writing into parts so each person can have their own part and etc…
5. Remember to make all decisions as a group, and to write as a group.
6. Remember that these aren’t strict guidelines; they’re just to help you write the story together in an organized fashion.
7. Have fun, this isn’t a school project. :P
Dot’s comments: Once a while Ajamesu or myself may ask to join you people and look at your progress. You should also be reporting to everyone about your progress regularly. Furthermore, for everything you will do or want to do, it’s best if you discuss with the other writers and the leaders.
Dot’s Final Comment: For every completed piece (which include outlines, notes of characters, settings and whatnot), post them here so other writers can see what you did or will be doing. Try not to post fragments of pieces, outlines or notes here; we try to keep this thread organized. Thanks.
