Surprisingly, though its on toondisney, I find this a good anime [though its made by French and Japanese]. When you hear Disney and anime, you tend to think kid shows and fruity, but this show and Mononoke being an exception. The lest episode I saw was really deep in story, and the only happy part was the very end.
The animation is good, though lacking noses and the main girls nob boobs, and the music is tres great [opening and ending composed by the godly Yoko Kanno]. Everyone should really check it out.

People who call other people godly are idiots. Other than that, I agree with you on this series: it's great. Too bad for the American audience their version has a different intro which is very lame XD

But yes, the series is very good. Surprised me how good it was too because I had low expectations for it.

Also, I would love to pop in that Yoko's ending and opening are very very good though. The ending song is one of the best I've seen and the animation compliments it very well. weeee

I watched the first few episodes of this on 'jetix' and it is ok. The only reason i stopped watching was the time of the day it's on. It also reminds me of a computer game called 'wipeout' and the starwars racing thing.

I once saw a French ep on some French channel, and it seemed interesting to me but since it was in French I didn't understand shit of it XD Then one year later I saw that they were gonna start the Dutch dub on Jetix in the Netherlands.

That just as bad as watching a show mid series...

I personally love the episode where they race against Groor (or whatever the name is), and they have engines coming from the engines XD That's just great.

Yeah, I know I should say wait for the DVD, point is, Oban doesn't seem that popular so they'll most likely never release it over here, and if they did, it'd be the Dutch dub, and then I'd rather have the French or the English one. Of course, Japanese version would totally rock.

yah I started watching Ōban when it first aired on Jetix but I stopped watching it (I get bored with TV)
But I really think the characters are so awesome. I think somebody definitely put a lot of thought into the making of this series.

But anyways, this is a very good series. Its the first anything I've gotten immersed into the shows/movies universe. I'm not saying its the greatest of all, but its just very good.
