So yeah, I feel like a Zelda fanboy.

Lightning response! XD
Love midna.
Anyway, her eye is a bit too Invader Zim for my tastes, and you should add all the detail work to her body; she looks kind of odd without it.
Nice picture though, I'm especially liking her hair! ^_^

Edit: And lmao, I see you super-omega-mega-simplified her crown also. I did the same thing. That thing is *SO* impossible to draw. Shows how talented those nintendo artists are. <3 XD

I would've done more on her body, but all I had was this mechanical pencil, but its quite a bastard to do shading detail with it. Which is why I heavily prefere traditional pencils.

Really? Oo

I personally *love* mechanical pencils. They always stay sharp! :heh:
Maybe it's just the type of mechanical lead you're using? They come in different diameters (which you probably already knew, but whatever.) if you're using a .7mm lead, try getting a .5 instead; it's what I use, and it usually doesn't give much of a fuss when I do details with it. .7 lead is a pain in the ass though. XD

I'm using a .5, which isn't the sort you'd shade with. Which is also what I'd do with the body part. Believe me I've tried, and all signs point to no. ):

HopelessComposer

Hmm, I used to do shading with a .5 pretty often back in the day. But maybe I was just used to it, as I've really never used traditional pencils while drawing. (I started with a notebook and the only pencil I had one day [mechanical lol] after being inspired by watching Princess Mononoke, after that, I've used nothing but mechanical pencils ever since.)

Also, I don't do much pencil work anymore (almost anything I finish is purely digital now) so maybe I'm just forgetting how much of a pain it is to shade with pencils. XD

Anyway, it's still a cool drawing of midna, you've captured her shape very well (unlike me, I ended up giving her a D-rack...by accident. Heheh. X3 )
So yeah, I'd say it's worth adding the details in when you find a more suitable pencil, but if you don't, that's fine too. It's a nice drawing regardless. ^_^

Haha, you'd do very well in graphic design. All your stuff is simple, appealing, and eye catching. :3

I do take Digital Imaging at my college, and I'm pretty much well ahead of the majority of the class in terms of talent. Not being concieted, since my instructor did tell me face to face that I got talent.

I was skeptical about it for a while though.

Technically this is oekaki. Since I did do it all on computer. Minus the oekaki java applet.

I guess technically it *could* be called oekaki. I'm not sure I'd call it that though; I can do a hell of a lot better work in photoshop than I can in paintchat. :heh:

It is a very nice piece of work regardless. I think this is by far my favorite piece by you. I was starting to think all you could draw was pandas! Thanks for proving me wrong, with style and finesse! ^_^

The drawing is good...but (all jokes aside) the eyes scream zombie/posessed/rape victim.

It's a good drawing. I like the nice clean style; are you using the pen tool or drawing it freehand? The anatomy is kind of off though, especially the placement of the nose...it should be farther to her right. Her clavicles are also...misplaced.

Dead Panda
February 24th, 2007, 07:51 pm
Yeah. Just using the lasso tool on this one, which explains my inability to make a decent anatomy.

Plus I NEVER draw noses.

Heheh, the anatomy is good enough. The slickness you've achieved using the lasso tool makes up for the small anatomy mistakes I think. Maybe if you did a sketched under the lasso tool finish it'd help though? Anyway, cool drawing. X3

Very nice graphics man! I see that there isn't just one person on here who wants to be a graphics designer. But you are the simpler of the two, ideal for ads and other commercial thingys like that. But well done! Keep it up!
