probably all of you heard of the two new upcoming portable systems:psp & ds. Ill briefly go over some of the characteristics...

psp:reads games from a new kind of disk, UMD. on these same disks sony is prepared to write movies to watch on psp. on psp you can listen to music, play games, wireless connection & etc. presumably will cost $250

ds:two screens, one sensitive to touch, microfone, wireless connection, reads all gba, gbc,gb games. games read from some floppy thingy(1GB in memory) cost $150

so i just wanted to know what would you pick?

I probably won't buy any of them, but if I had to, I'd buy NDS. I just like Nintendo's portable systems, and I think their games for it will probably be better than PSP's. They just...fit.

Just to clear somethiong up, the DS only has one gigabit cartridges which is a lot more like 128 MB. This is still over double the largest N64 cartridge but it isn't as big as a CD even.

I'm going for DS. I'm also a Nintendo fan, it doesn't cost as much money, the batteries last longer, and it looks to be fun.

ive always been a nintendo fan so normally ill go for DS since itll have the Zelda series. However, sony has always had a lot of game producers working for them so there will probably be more3 RPG which i like.

p.s. sony announced that they are ready to keep psp for 10 years on the market before they replace it (this is a deviation from the usual 5 year cycle). Here are some of the statistics from Famitsu, the japanese videogame magazine:

73% of gamers are intrested in DS, 60% in psp
90%game producers/creaters are ready to support psp, while 87%-DS

Actually, the official numebers state 99 companies for PSP 100 for DS (many companies support both). These numbers may have changed but the point is third party support is very much identical.

It isn't really a 5 year life in handhelds. The basic gameboy was around for 11 years before the GBA came in. There was one significant update but not a true successor.

As to RPG's, there have been a significant number of RPGs for GBA and Square Enix have announced multiple games for the DS. These include a new Secret of Mana, a new Crystal Chronicles and a new Dragon Quest. I just don't see a lack of RPGs coming out for DS whereas I can't bring to mind one announced RPG for PSP.

Those were the official statments issued at E3. That may be the number of companies that are actually making games right now for the PSP but they say they have the support of 99 companies. That could even just be the number of dev. kits shipped out to different developers.

Bomberman
Bomberman is classic

After checking out some stuff about Armored core: File Front I'd be more inclined to get a PSP

thats what im saying-more cooler games are likely to be on psp(especially anime based games)

Neko Koneko

I don't care if games are based on an anime or not, in fact all games I played that were based on anime sucked arse. I'd rather have a game that's not based on a series or film, so that the game actually has to prove itself, instead of selling on the fame of the series or film it was based upon.

yes i agree but i still wish for a great game based on anime because i like anime... and good RPGs *crosses fingers*

Yeah, too bad there aren't many games based upon anime that are actually good. I mean, Evangelion for the N64 just totally sucked to name an example.
