Worst drummer ever. So very unimaginative, it's not like they don't suit the songs, but a little more love and a lot more practise could create something a whole lot more special.

Think green day is good, 'wake me up when september ends' has a cool melodie but its a bit monotone, I think. the couplets were 3X the same . I think they made better songs, like 'Holiday', or indeed 'boulevard of broken dreams'.

The music video for "Wake me up when September Ends" is quite sad. But I'm getting of topic. Sorry!

And what does looking at tabs mean? You don't judge a band completely by glancing at what music they can write down.

Just that their tabs show how little they really know.

i hate them. i seriously think they're overrated. they have the easiest tabs ever. any rock band can play them. they just have this addicting rythm that ppl like., and thats why everyone loves them.

so ya, tabs are important. just because a band has a really good song but the tabs are so easy that an amateur can play it, it doesnt mean that they are a great band. It's like saying a band that plays hot cross buns is a great band.

This may seem stupid but what are tabs?

Well, I don't know much about complexity in music and what not, but I was told that Let It Be by the Beatles is a fairly simple song. Written in 4/4 in the C major scale. Seems simple enough. But no, it's regarded as one of their best songs and the piano ballade in music.

"Tabs" are only half the story. The energy and liveliness, how they execute the song is equally important, if not, more important than tabs. Furthermore, how do you know that the song's main highlight are the vocals or percussion?

And if you're getting tabs off the internet, they are unreliable and most of them don't sound exactly like the actual song for copyright reasons.

So what exactly are tabs? General info for playing the song?

Yeahh, basic chords and the such.

It's kinda like a staff with 6 lines and numbers all over the place (indicating the frets). The thickest string (lowest) is lowest on the tablature, while the thinnest (highest) is at the top. :)

It's easier to read than sheet music, that's for sure! :heh:
