Is there any way to take an audio file and turn it into midi?

I heard there was some program supposed to be able to do that... but I asume it would be very hard for a program to deside wich instrument is playing, just from measuring frequensies (wich I would think it does)
the tone A being 440 hz and so on...
so more than one instrument should be very hard.

It's called Melodyne, I remember, but audio to midi is only a side function, so I wouldn't have high thoughts about it. But I doubt you'd want to spend like 300 dollars on it anyways.

There's really no program that can successfully convert audio to midi without a LOT of mistakes in the midi file. I suggest you find a transcriber.
