"Absolutely the Greatest Movie ever made." That's exactly how great this movie is. Just got back from watching this 2-Hour Epic--No doubt in the universe that this will be a classic of all warring-historical movies out there.

I give it a 12/10, not an unreal score. Everything is so epic and spinetingling. The action and gore is nothing without the great music as well.

Please, review it whenever you get the chance to see it!

Ha, it might not be the best GF/BF movie since theres some pretty open boob parts, and also an openly sex part (see everything but the bottom halfs). x_x

I just saw it. I feel less of a man now XD

I feel like I have to go out now and kill a baby or something. Though the story line wasn't anything special, the effects were pretty sweet. Everyone must go see it!

Story is suppose to be based on the battle of Thermopylae.

Somehow I'm not surprised by this, although this is the first time I had heard this.

I wanna see it so bad. I was supposed to go with my friends, but I had to work Friday. They did too, but they skimped out on it. (when I mean work I mean volunteering at district contest at our school). Losers.

i really like the movie...but i could have done without the sex scene, tbh. i don't think it really fit in. and i didn't think it was necessary for the oracles dress to slip down...

Of course it fit in! Sex is the yin to the yang of violence! As we all know, manly men do only two things: kill stuff and have sex. XP

^Never has it been put better than that. XD

Apparantly it was directed by the same guy who directed Sin City. And that movie was pretty crazy. Seriously.
Every once and a while I need a good man-movie, I think I'll blackmail my friends into watching it with me before the week's done. Damn wusses.

PorscheGTIII

Actually the sex scene was important. He was going of into battle and it was a battle that he probably would not come back alive. So of course you need to get the last time in! And the oracle women were slaves to fill the desires of those weird looking guys. It said that their beauty was their ultimate downfall so that is why they were chosen to be the oracle.

Lovely_Spirit
March 15th, 2007, 10:58 pm
well yes the oracle was beautiful, but i don't need to see her breasts to understand that...

and i think the sex scene was just cheesy. with all the fades in and out and him all of a sudden gettin' her from behind paired with all the heavy breathing she was doing...it just seemed unnecessary to me.

*shrug*

it was an excellent movies, with or without a sex scene.

Wasn't Sin City directed by Quentin Tarentino?

The sex scene was just fine. The oracles on the other hand? Well, they don't live in the 21st century.
I think it would actually be weird and awkward if they kept it "clean".

That aside, the movie kicked ass on so many levels.
Oh, except that there's always one stupid death.

Just goes to show how many guys grow ovaries these days.
Can the fellows all chant . . . "WE ARE MEN"

Frank Miller wrote the graphic novels for both 300 and Sin City. Quentin Tarantino only directed one part of Sin City.

Concering 300: “…a fabrication of culture and insult to people not acceptable by any nation or government.
Iran considers it as hostile behavior which is the result of cultural and psychological warfare.”
-- Iranian government spokesman.

Jon Stewart responded to it earlier this week; it was lawl.

I just finished watching it last night... it was a lot better than I expected. Some parts actually made me laugh (good thing?..), but for the most part I was in awe from the special effects and the amazing camera angles that they took advantage of. The graphics are just great, and the story was well-paced. Man those guys were ripped! I heard they had to stop filming at some points because some of the guys didn't look buff enough, so they made them do push ups before reshooting (makes the muscles flex). I was most impressed by their depiction of blood, very artistic. Good movie, I'd watch it in theaters again if I were given the chance (and money).

I just watched it the day before yesterday. Such a good movie. And those guys were all amazing looking. Watching the movie made me both very proud of the male body, and slightly embarrassed about mine. Time to work out and...throw spears through people's eyes. XD

Watched it...AWESOME XD
I'm really fascinated about the Phalanx formation, it's...fascinating XD

I heard that they had to stop filming every once and awhile because the actors' muscles are flexed so they had to do a few pushups then they continue XD

gonna watch this on saturday, looking forward to it =D

The government spokesman, Gholamhossein Elham, described the film as "cultural intrusion" and an attack on Iran's ancient civilisation. "Such a fabrication of culture and insult to people is not acceptable by any nation or government," he told reporters. "[Iran] considers it as hostile behaviour which is the result of cultural and psychological warfare."

SPOILER ALERT: Xerxes is totally gay for Leonidas.

"They do not fear my whips, they fear my divine power"

:\ I was like.."WTF" in that shot.

Anyway..asfar as stopping and doing pushups AFAIK they never stopped, each battle scene is all done in one go, the team had trained for months beforehand so they were comfortable with eachother (Check out the '300' right of passage workout...these guys arent just buff they are in damn shape)

All in all a great movie, I mean...you had flying guts, battles of epic proportion and a harem, what more do ya need?

I saw it last night [and I still don't understand how I passed for a 15..XD]
It was awesome. I liked the battle scenes the most.
All those 6-packs made me feel slightly sick after a while. There's something about over-muscly men that I don't like. Blehh.
The oracle needs to...buy a bra or something...XD
Is it me, or is Xerxes' voice abnormally[sp?] low?

It was a beaytiful movie, what would you expect from the team behind Sin city. what I didnt like was the referenses to certain other wars, and the christian undertones. did you notice that in the giant death scene in the the end, the bodies form motifs from certain paintings god pointing his finger at adam, jesus on the cross etc.

anyway the movie was a beatyful testosterone fest, with moderate historical connection =)

Robert Rodrigueuz directed Sin City. Frank Miller wrote it. Frank Millar also wrote 300. Zack Snyder directed 300. I think that's clear ^_^

I must say, I LOVED this film. Saw it yesterday and was totally blown away. I think I'll put the rest in spoiler tags just in case... The fight sequences were all really well done, just like Sin City, it was like a comic book come to life! That's why the over the topness worked so well I guess. And I'm not normally one for totally ripped guys, but THESE ARE SPARTANS. Boy. See I love my epic battles with the swords and stuff and this totally rocked my little (blood and gore filled world). And Xerxes made me laugh. He was cool. But not as col as Leonidas (how do you spell his name anyway XD)....hee-yeah, I could go on and one about why I loved this film.

Oh! And what a great soundtrack!

Movie is based on a comic book by frank miller, there can be no historical mistakes since its not based on history.

Amazing film and full of adventure and hardship. I love the story and the graphic novel was just as awesome if not better. I have to say some people get confused because they think it is a historical film. This is a film based on history but not in a historical factual way. It is mostly based on the graphic Novel... So when people say they hated it because it was not historically accurate was missing the fact it was not meant to be.

Deathgod

yeah I first thought it was a historical too but the movie was good so I forgot about it being accurate or not
