Playstation 2 : Role-Playing : Fantasy : Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia

Ar tonelico takes place in the world of Sol Shell, a small world consisting of nothing more than a single floating tower set between a sea of clouds above and plasma below. The story centers on Laina Barselt, an eighteen-year-old whose father governs Platina, a town located in the top floors of the tower. Laina is uninterested in politics, and instead seeks adventure in the army. The game has multiple heroines of a species known as Ravateel, who use magic to sing songs about the world. However, these performances cause pain for the performer, so they only perform for loved ones.

Release Date: February 6, 07 [North America]

Yeah I played the game. I thought it was cool. the battle system was different but still cool. The soul space part of the game was a pretty cool addition to the game. I got through the whole game and I got through phase three as well. I was able to get through all the soul spaces for all three characters. Its sad that it didn't last long, but was still fun regardless.

@HanTony- Thats a good description of the game, but I thought his name was Lyner Barsett not Laina Barselt. Well at the least thats the what they call him in the english version of the game.

I saw Ar Tonelico and it looked really really cool. But video games are so expensive so I buy games only worth buying. Is this game good enough for a tight-budgeted girl to buy?

Well, that depends. What kind of games are you into? This is an adventure RPG game. I thought the game to be very good. I usually play longer than the average person as far as game time is concerned. In all, it lasted me about 40 hours game time. Its a different game with a cool battle system. There really aren't many sidequests, but there are these things called the soulspaces. So you could call that the games side quests. Anyways it was a good game and lasted me a bit. It was around $50 when I bought it. The price might of went down, but Im not sure.

I love adventure RPG games! If it lasts for awhile and doesn't end right away then it might be worth $50! Thanks for all the info! I'll probaly go buy it! Thanks again!

I liked that fact that a pretty official artbook came with the game - and the music is super-pretty...Though I hate the Ion Plate dungeon...in the middle of Phase 2 - Misha's path...

It took forever to get down the tower...
