Im just making a thread about DBZ & GT because it is one of the best shows :P... I am pretty much obsessed with it... But anyways, seeing as there was no thread on DBZ, I decided to make one... So post away :)

In England, DBZ was aired first, then GT then the original. I was hooked to it for ages until i had seen every episode and movie. Now it's just a distant memory.

Ahh I know... I live in Canada, and YTV is the network that used to air it... and I was so mad and complained for days when they took it off... I remember when I was a kid, I watched it all the time... Now, I just miss it :( ... I still have my gamecube games haha :)

What about Dragon Ball? You know the first show of the series. Where Goku is a kid. Anyway, the Dragon Ball series is one of the best anime out there. And if not that, then one of the most memorable. Im crazy about the show too. You know they brought DBZ back to Cartoon Network on saturdays at 7 pm eastern time. I remember when I would use to splurge all my money on DBZ VHS tapes (yeah the thing before DVDs) and also on their magazine as well. Ah those were the times. I couldn't wait for the tv to dish out more episodes, so I just went and bought them. My favorite character is Gohan. I don't really have a favorite saga it was mainly the whole show. And I thought Android 18 was very pretty. What about you guys?

Eh... no favorite character in that series... akira really didn't know how to draw women.

Anyway... memorable? after the regular one, it just turned to hell... Z and GT were ridiculous. Sometime around where Gohan was drunk in every movie or when Goku got stronger just by doing asinine crap.
Still remember those vhses XD Though I still remember Macross Betamax... so...

Well, Akira made the show like 10+ years ago. Oh sorry yeah there was betamax, but that was before my time. Well I didn't really prefer the movies that much. They were okay, but not the best. Okay it was memorable for me. Hey at least if it weren't for DBZ I might not be interested in anime today. I don't like Macross, too old for my blood (No offense).

Yeah... that macross comment.... ::kills Piano::

How does 10 years make a difference in drawing women XD

Because, maybe he thought this show may have been partially for the kids! I don't think he wanted them to look like they do now, because if their moms came in then they would probably not let them watch it. Which would kill DB ratings. Or maybe he really is bad at drawing women. I don't know.

Isn't DB/DBZ from like the mid-eighties? That would make it twenty years old. DBZ is pretty cool, but too long and slow. It really lives up to it's name. Drag-on Ball.

pianocrazy90
April 11th, 2007, 03:48 am
Yeah, I think it was from that time. Because DBGT was made in like 1997. So yeah it could of been. The show is long, but if your patient then its great show. But I think there are too many flashback episodes. Because when you're younger and watch it you think like "I wonder if Freiza, Cell, or Majin Buu is dead yet", and then ten days later Cell comes back to life and your like "what in the world, I thought Cell was dead?!" But they are good cliff-hangers, and they sure kept me hooked until the end of the show.

Yeah... atleast it had meaning I guess. For those that haven't read Journey to the West.

I liked Gundam better, but when the creator said "I only made the series to sell toys" I got kind of put off.

pianocrazy90
April 11th, 2007, 04:27 am
Well hey you know he probably didn't know that the show would go that far. Gundam was pretty cool, I'd like see more of it, but it was cancelled. Well anyway getting off topic.

I liked Bruce Faulconer's music for the DBZ series, anyone else like his music?

pianocrazy90
April 28th, 2007, 03:48 am
Oh so he's the one that does the music for DBZ. Yeah, I do like the music. And the music definitely captures whatever event is transpiring. I remember that the music often would get stuck in my head. I almost bought the soundtrackes but decided not to.

KH_fan
April 28th, 2007, 04:00 am
....I guess I'm the only one who has all his soundtrack then :P

pianocrazy90
April 29th, 2007, 02:38 am
Really, you have all the soundtracks? Thats cool. I saw those soundtracks in the DBZ magazines. Did you ever buy those magazines, of course this was a little back when the show was still kicken.

I used to love the DB series. It's what got me into Anime was DBZ on Toonami when I was in 2nd Grade. :heh:

Then I watched all the DB, then GT came out a year or two later, and hated it. Then they seemed to cancel all DB for a while. Too bad. x_x

Try to differentiate between all three DB shows. First theirs DragonBall, then DragonBall Z, and finally Dragon Ball GT. Yeah I got into DBZ when I was in I think either 4th or 5th grade, which was like 6 to 7 years ago. Yeah I wasn't on the ball directly when the show came out. And then my friends were talking about it so much that I decided to watch, and you know what, I loved it. That show was awesome. Its sad its all over. Yeah do you remember when DBZ would come on at like 5:00 or 5:30 pm. It was THE show to watch after school. Then came along Dragon Ball, which I liked show alot too. Then years later came Dragon Ball GT, it was okay, not as good as the others. But it still was DB material. And thats the time line for that show. Why DBZ came before DB I do not know.

Haha, yeah thats what it was like alot of the time. But still powering up is nothing to joke about, although those episodes on Namek when there was five minutes left was stretched to be more than that. I just weird how people can make 3 years fly bye in one episode, but it takes 5-7 episodes just to get through five minutes.

Yeah. The DBZ Music is good. I like Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku

Oh.. How could I forget about DragonBall haha that one I found funny :P

That's not by Bruce Falconer though, he only did the crappy American soundtrack.

But still powering up is nothing to joke about

Actually it is, and everybody does it because of that. It's just one of the most retarded aspects of the whole show that partly ruined it. I loved DBZ but the powering up was just horrible.

omg.. haha powering up.. i remember when I was I kid, i used to try and do "ka-me-ha-me-ha's" and turn super sayian.... lol

Yeah... when they took for ever to power up it kinda annoyed me.. buts its a good show.

May 6th, 2007, 02:10 am
Yeah, its ridiculous and for that it will be remembered for at least something. So far I haven't seen any other shows that have done that. Yeah I wondered how odd we looked like out in public when doing DBZ imitations. Okay without powering up, what would the show have been? Nothing kids would watch, nah kids want all of that stuff. To a kid, powering up is not annoying, its cool to them. And you gotta remember when you were young too. Come'on tell me you didn't act frivolous at least one time from watching some show.

yeah android and cell saga's are my favourite... haha they bring back lots of memories.

I was in Toronto the other day, and I stopped at the Pacific Mall (the largest indoor asian shopping mall in North America :D)... and I caught my eye on some DBZ dvd's... I remember seeing them at my blockbuster a few years ago, and they dont sell them anymore where I live... I was so happy that I bought a few... I miss this show so much.

Oh did you know that they are digitally remastering the whole show in saga sets? They are already got the first few sagas out. So why don't you look for those when you get the chance. Sure it will cost some money, but what anime doesn't?
