I realize that we had a few threads that came and went encompassing single genres of live actions but I thought we'd make a single thread.
So this is for anime series turned into live actions and dramas. Also to help deal with requesting new series and suggesting new series. Some shows are regional, so keep that in mind. Mugen and Taiga dramas being the example for those.

Upside:Great plot and plenty of comedy<Both perverted and not>
Downside:The episodes leave off at the worse times, introducing new twists at the very end of each episode.

Ido soon finds that Alita is made completely of cybernetic parts, except for her organic brain, and takes her in hoping to help her repair and regain her memories.. After a misunderstanding Alita shows proficiency in the lost art of Martian Panzer Kunst(Armored Arts). Missing her memories, Alita must fight with Ido to survive in the Junkyard, and bring light to the dark ages that have befallen the world.<Based on manga 1-3>
Upside: Done with an all-star American cast, it will appear in the US first. The movie is one of the most expensive at the moment, utilizing 3D technology for it's pictures. The trilogy is hailed as the Lotr of the 26th century.
Downside:So far the only theaters with the technology exist in Japan and Imax. The movie hinges on 1,000 theaters changing to 3d projectors in the next 2 years. 2D version is of substantially lessened quality. The date has been pushed back several times.The movie is very spread out and will take a long time to produce. Not as much support here in the US, though it was one of the earlier introduced Manga.

Summary: The main belief is that the story will be set in the first 6 volumes of Evangelion. For those of you that do not know the series, Evangelion is a future in which the world is threatened by Angels prophesised in the Dead Sea Scrolls. The series follows a Catastrophe in the Red Sea called the Second Impact. Nerv, establishes a base in an effort to protect Tokyo 4(The other three were destroyed), but all their weapons seem useless against the angels. Shinji Ikari is the son of Gendo Ikari, leader of Nerv. Gendo summons Shinji to become a pilot of the only known weapon to work against the angels , the Evangelion. Shinji quickly matures under the strain of his overwhelming responsibilities; however, will Shinji, "the Third Child", be able to prevent a third impact from destroying the city? In order to do so, he'll need to create strong bonds with those he can trust, and discover the secret hidden behind Nerv and the Rebirth of Adam.

Upside: Great plot and huge budget to work off of.
Downside: Does not hold true to the series in the concept art shown.


Sorry for so little info The Eva movie infuriates me... and Battle angel is being scarce.
For true evangelion fans there is still Evangelion Shin Gekijou Ban. This is the fourth Animated movie called Rebuild. It holds truer to the story, and helps to clear up some of the confusion left behind.

I am currently watching Gokusen. It quite similar to GTO. The live action is quite different from the anime but still addictive. The guy that act as Doumyouji in Hana Yori Dango is in the show.

I second Hana Yori Dango, though it's the only drama I've actually watched.

Hana yori dango... I was so annoyed by its second season. They put in a lot of weird things that made no sense.
