Hey, I've been hearing a lot the terms fully-and semi-weighted keys when shopping online for keyboards. Now I know the difference between weighted and non-weighted keys. But what's the difference between fully and semi-weighted? How do they compare and contrast in how they work? And is there a clear better choice?

Please do not buy a semi-weighted keyboard. I did and I sorely regret it.
Synth action keyboards are keyboards which are very light and feel like plastic.
Weighted keys resemble the hammer action of a piano.
Semi-weighted is somewhere in between, or so they say. Now this sounds like a good thing, since they cost less. You'd rather have semiweighted then synth keys, right? Well, that's what I thought, but I was wrong. The semi-weighted keyboard I got, the keystation 88es, in my opinion, is worse then even a synth action keyboard. They feel nothing like piano keys, rather they are very "mushy" and uncomfortable to play, especially the black keys. Playing never feels as solid as it does on a real piano, even a synth action keyboard is better in this regard.
I don't know, maybe other "semi-weighted" keyboards are different, but from my experience, stay far away from them. Better to save a bit more and buy a weighted keyboard.

I had an idea of what it might've meant, but I wasn't sure. This just further solidifies my knowlege of what I need. Thanks.
