I haven't heard much classical but latly I have had to find a violin solo so lets see.... I think my favorite is Chaconne for violin by J.S Bach, (there is an awesome video of Mr. Heifetz playing it on youtube) and I also like Sarabande in G minor that I am currently learning by Bohm.

I even love that Tom & Jerry chapter named "The cat concerto" in which this composition is played by Tom. :) hehe

Sarabande, eh?
I played that piece in a quartet a few years back, and I really liked it. Heh.
I don't even remember how it sounds like, though I still have the sheet music. x3

I personally really like Pavane and Canon in D. I think Pavane's too easy (the arrangement I have), but Canon in D isn't exactly sight-reading material for me. A little out of my range unless I practice; I play the clarinet. That's four sharps. I'm just too busy to practice it.

I haven't listened to classical music all that much, but I'm rather fond of Chopin's Fantaisie Impromptu. Unfortunately, I'm completely unable to play it. =[

Whitacre's Lux Aurumqe - any arrangement.

Classical? Hmm. Well, that piece rocks. Period. I prefer the band and choral versions over the orchestral one, which was a bit shrill. Or maybe it was just the version I heard. ;__;

Rachmaninoff -- Piano Concerto No. 2; I. Moderato

This piece has a giant influence on myself, and really paints a great picture of who I am as a person. Mainly, it's the view from other people and then the truth about myself when interpreted correctly. Beautiful, it strikes into my soul so vividily.

Eveveryone should listen to this piece!!

chopin - etude Op. 25, No. 11 "Winterwind" (amazing when performed properly, breathtaking)
chopin - ballade op. 23 in G minor (emotional, very personal piece for me)
beethoven - Sonata No. 23 "Appassionata". (intense emotional ride, favorite out of the four. Attempted to learn it but still quite sucky at it, great piece for any anger outlet)
Rachmaninoff - 2nd concerto 1st movement (one of few orchestral pieces which can grasp my full attention for ten minutes, love the melodies)

SB's attempt at making a list version 1.0(I might make more versions later in case I leave anything out/discover new pieces I like):

"Le Quattro Stagione" - A. Vivaldi (I especially like La Primavera mvt. 1, L'estate mvts. 1 and 3, and L'inverno mvts. 1 and 3 (yay for the complicated violin solos!))
"Revolutionary Etude op.10 no. 12" - F. Chopin (impossible to play)
"Concerto for Two Violins" - J.S. Bach (Fellow Suzuki violin students should be able to recognize this one...)

...yes, that's all I can think of right now...
