I'm moving up to Vancouver, Washington soon and I have to get a new piano teacher.

I'm getting really serious now, and I want a good piano teacher from the start instead of having to jump around. This is really out there, but does anyone know any really good teachers in the Portland, Oregon/Vancouver, Washington area?

Wouldn't this be advertisment if anyone answered >.>

Actually, no. RD is more of the respected members anyway, so he isn't putting this up as 'advertisment.' Probably more of a PM-type thing if you know.

Not really... the kind of "advertisement" that would get you a thwack on the head in this forum is a thread about the product/service (eg. viagra, porn site) or a post promoting an irrelevant product in another thread.
RD is just asking for help. If a reply to it counts as advertising to you, then I'm guessing that most of the sheet music request threads turn into advertising.

Lol what they said.

I found one piano teacher, but she looks full [and I think really expensive. She gotta' pay for her two grand Stineways'...]. Produced some pretty amazing students though : [ forgot her name so belh.

RD, I go to Vancouver a lot for band trips. If I hear anything I'll let you know. It would be funny if you end up going to Evergreen High School, because they are our marching band/winter percussion rivals and we hate each other's guts! :P

£4.00 an hour where I live. Semi retired teacher.

suppose when it comes to money issues with lessons it depends what you want and what people can offer

if you're not really that serious about it and just see it as a hobby then you dont really want to be paying that much for lessons

but if you want to get anywhere with playing then you are naturally looking at paying a bit more for the standard of teacher who can get you there

Oh good, we like Skyview. It's a really nice school. I go there for band competitions throughout the year, so I guess there's a chance I could meet you! ^.^

Haha, no I am not a chimo. Oh, and once you move to Vancouver, trust me, you will hear of Evergreen. You will most likely learn to hate it as well. ;) Seriously though, I think that school breeds snotty people.

So, I used to live up there. When I was young, I took from Julie Johnson.

I don't know if she's still around, but she was good. I'd suggest looking her up.
