This composition is more like a musical poem, there's words that go with it in the mus file.

This is an unfinished piece using Piccolo,Flute,Oboe,Oboe D'amoure,English Horn,Basson, and Celesta. I've just Started it and I've yet to write a part for Celesta and English Horn, I was wondering what could they add to the beginning of the piece?

Pretty random... assuming you are a beginner, try to come up with themes for now, and let the themes be the main part(s) of your compositions.

Ok, something about the last one: Do not use more than one instrument (assuming you are a beginner), because orchestration is the 'next level up' from basic Piano composing  . There are problems with the 2nd song, but it's too technical to explain the problems at your level...

EDIT: Another thing: Oboe d'Amore is very rare these days... you can't find those anywhere (or, at least, almost nowhere).

That's a little unfair, but it's true that none of your orchestration is going to be great for a while. You don't necessarily need to start with piano though. Piano composing is rarely as basic as it at first appears.

I agree. Piano composition is only a great start because it has the capability to have harmony and melody at the same time. I am not acquainted with the piano even if I'm okay at orchestration, so I guess one shouldn't underestimate the piano. ;)

As for Tiamat: Clarinetist has a point, your pieces feel random and lacks direction for most parts. I guess you can start by picking out simple melodies and harmonies. Just keep it simple for now, eventually, you can move on to more complex stuff.

:heh: Sorry. I was in a bad mood at the time x_x. It was all I could think of :\.

But, yes, start with something simple :heh: .

Thanks, I have all these ideas and I get frustrated because I dont know how to make them...."come to life"...I'll compose a simple piano piece and post it today or tomorrow.

searching- I think you had something going on the melody sometimes but the bass part went alittle off.
gentle breeze- I like this one better you had some nice chords along the way.
For a new composer I think your doing good. :)
