Synapse:
“Toki wo Kakeru Shojo” is a juvenile novel written by Tsutsui Yasutaka. It became TV drama, movie, and Manga several times. However, this is the first time to become anime. The main character, Konno Makoto, is brighter and more easygoing than any other characters in movie or TV drama made before. At once she knows she acquires the power of “time leap”. She uses it without hesitation to satisfy her own desire.

[Synopsis of the original novel]
Yoshiyama Kazuko is in the 3rd grade of junior high. One day, she’s cleaning in the laboratory, she notices of the smell of lavender, and fainted. Since then, she acquires a mysterious power to travel time.

I have to say that this movie is throughly impressive. The animation is greatly detailed in movement. So much that it is odd. The animation is done by MADHOUSE, so it's no new kid on the block. They've been around for a while, and know what they're doing. The background artwork is nothing less that stellar. The character models are kinda basic, but that makes them stand out from the background better.

The music is a little cheesey in a sense. It does have its own sound, but it feels a bit out of place from the rest of the anime.

The story is basically about a school girl, Makoto, that can "leap" or jump through time. The title isn't too intuitive in describing this aspect. When I was watching this anime I thought of the popular Makoto Shinkai film "Place Promised in Our Earlier Days (http://forums.ichigos.com/showthread.php?t=5253)". It was a tender story, yet it had some action. It was based off of hit novel book with the same name (is it just me or are there more animes coming out from books recently?). The storyline is superb. I now understand why it won the Mainichi Film Award (http://wiki.anidb.info/w/Mainichi_Awards) for 2006.

Nothing more really stands out about the anime, but I feel nothing more really has to be said. Just check it out. It's unlicensed. It's free. There's seeders. It's worth your time to watch.

I wanted to see this at the Canada premiere.

So pure, so spirited and so full of life. Unquestionably one of the best kekeke.
