Meh, everyone appears to have one of these threads to update stuff on and whatnot so I might as well have one. : P

Until my big projecty thing is done and I can show you what I get up to at my "Current best" here's some stuff from another of my little musical projects.

Just some background on the ideas so people know what I'm getting at:

These two tracks are from an album project titled "SkyWing Productions - Breeze... The Wind SAGA." - I hate just writing songs and stuff, I like some story telling and substence behind it all. The album is basically a simple concept about a large storm building up that will most likely destroy the human race. The main character is a young boy who surfs on wind (A wind dacer) and intends to go and take on the storm to save his beloved.

Not the most original story by any means. But a fun little side project to put all my spare riffs and such. :]

Bottom line is "Hit The Highway" is an upbeat song about him setting out on his journey to "Terrors Eye" where the storm will hit and "Breeze" (Which is by far incomplete) is a scene where he's stood at the edge of a cliff looking out over the land contemplating what he's set out to do and the beauty of the world etc. etc. blahblahblah.

I do ramble. I know.

Anyhow, feedback, critic shizz, all that palava. All welcome. :3

Hopefully I'll finish this project sometime soon and release the full finished product.

I love the biginning of "Hit the Highway". For a moment there that took me away. Though I'm not really a fan of the sounds from finale. I must say I like the progression. After a minute I expected a melody, but I guessed that wrong. Other than that I like it.:)

As for "Breeze", it's not done yet, so there is not much I can say about it right now.

Nice work ;)

Haha, thanks man. I didn't expect the start to be that much of an impact. =D

And um, "The sounds from finale" meaning the outro or, something else?

Haha, I prolly shoulda mentioned it but the bit that fades into Breeze at the end is SUPPOSED to represent some sort of shower of rain and wind, hard to get that on Midi but I tried my best to represent it somehow.

I just like simple, few instrument, "story music":P

No it's not the way you made that wind/rain, but it's the sounds within Finale itself that I don't like. The sounds of the instruments are so fake and ... well don't know, maybe I'm just being bitchy again. It's nothing you can do about it I think. I'm not sure if there is a way to import new sounds/instruments that sound better and less shallow.

Unfortunately really sucky Midi is the best way to simulate guitar. True it could be punchier but yeah... Sucks to be Midi. Haha. 8)

Sounds alright in real life though.

(I don't actually know if double posting with a large period of time between posts is allowed, so stone me if I've screwed up here. : P)

Anyhow~ I thought I'd share something with whoever cares to look.

Basically it's a very short piano piece I wrote literally in a matter of seconds (Spurr of a moment thing, I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets them.) thought it was good, sent it to a friend who out of utter kindness decided to mess with it and make the Soundfont a whole lot better.

I didn't think it was particularly brilliant till I heard it with more realistic sound, now I'm pretty adamant I'm going to write a full piece with it. :3

Nehoo~ Here we go~

With any luck I'll also be putting up a full project sometime soon. : P not that anyone cares or even really knows who I am around here yet. ;[

Hit the Highway:

Maybe it's just the MIDI, but I prefer the acoustic guitar - that sounded like it fit better to me. I do like the piece though, and I agree that you have a very nice progression.

Haha, thanks. 8]

It's sorta designed so it can be played rock style and acoustic without changing anything. :3

But thank you<3 I expected to get like, ">: O omgcrap." feedback. :]

We Can't Win?/Terror Battle: This is just something I've been working on the past hour or two, somewhere around that ammount of time. It's incomplete but I want to hear some opinions on it so far.

I was basically sat watching Claymore and the whole thing just made me want to do a theme that has that element where the hero's are totally outmatched by a single enemy who's basically destroying them with some graphic monsterious buisness.

Anyhow, this is what came out of it. :3 I feel I captured the mood... but then I'm obviously going to think that. ;P
