Which parts of the flute version are not playable on violin?

well i actually dont know much about comparisons between instruments when playing the same sheet, so i dont know if i can use the flute to play on violin, otherwise if it makes no difference playing using a flute sheet with violin, then i guess i could just use it

i think a flute sheet will work for violin, but you will need to add the slurs and bowing yourself (to make it comfortable to play and sound the way you want it).

problem is its kinda hard to get the instrumental part of the song from the raw mp3, so kinda hard to know where slurs would work

with that said... is it still doable to transpose it to be good for a violin?

well, i'm afraid i can't make a good violin score as i haven't touched a violin for a year... and it is just not possible for me to know what slurs and bowing will work without actually trying on the violin. (and i am no good at imagining.)
anyway, if you are familiar with the song, try playing the score and just do what you feel like and i'm sure you will be able to get something. there isn't really a definitive right way for these things - it is up to the performer.
(by the way, the score on josh's site is melody only, which is the vocal line - is this what you want, or are you wanting to play the full version for violin, or violin along with voice, or violin with piano accompaniment? i was a bit confused when you mentioned the instrumental part of the song.)

i meant by violin accompaning the vocal

well, then, i am sorry that i have misunderstood the request! the flute score will not work at all because it is melody (vocal part) only.
and i am afraid i can't really help you because i don't do violin + vocal scores... (i find it tricky only having one line of accompaniment.) i could do a piano + vocal one but that would be pretty useless to you.
hope there are others who can help.
