That's me. :D *waves aimlessly*
I haven't been here in a really long time and I've been missing the positive atmosphere of the forums, so I decided to come back. :heh: I have a few random thematic ideas rolling around in my brain... I just need to write them down. I do, however, have a mini-composition available below (that I'll probably never get around to finishing). It's the overture to the musical that will never exist: Night of the Laughing Flamingo. It was going to be our AP Music Theory Final Project, but we as a class later decided to make a band and participate in the local Battle of the Bands (our band, the Heat Waifers, got 2nd Place), instead.
Anyway, imagine this as the opening scene for a highly elaborate production, with nine flamboyant flamingos, each standing on one leg in the middle of the stage, never moving a muscle. It adds to the effect if you paint that picture in your noggin. :P

Good ol' Ureshii is back! Alright!
Hey man, good little piece you've posted there; I've been waiting for one of the original composers to return to Ichigo's for another reign. ^_^
I'd like to hear more of your new stuff if you have any prepared!

It's definitely not my cup of tea with the cliched feel throughout. Though, the rhythm is nice, in my opinion. Maybe you can elaborate more on the light-hearted and scherzando feel throughout, I felt that your theme is a little too interrupted at times.

To Mazeppa ~
Thanks for your praise there; it has given me an extra little push to actually continue on and possibly finish this thing, even though the musical itself is as good as dead. :heh:
... You used to be Maestro~, right?

My goal from the very beginning for that piece was to make it as corny, cliché, and kitsch as possible; the entire musical was meant to be ironic, musically and plot-wise. That comment of yours tells me that I have accomplished my goal so far... now I just need to elaborate on it. x_x

Anyway, yeah... I have five other short, unfinished works: the romance theme for Night of the Laughing Flamingo; the main theme for Arbor Day, an independent film being written, produced, and directed by my friend Blake Bratcher that captures on film the effects of mass deforestation, including (but not limited to) irate trees coming to life to rip off the heads of unsuspecting victims :shifty:; the festival theme for Arbor Day; the extra cheesy battle music for Arbor Day, which is in the same style (and probably the same crude MIDI orchestration) of classic RPGs :P; and the sky was candy, an atonal choral piece based on text by E. E. Cummings--Eric Whitacre, known for his gorgeous and lush choral repertoire, is a very prominent influence.
I've been listening to a lot of funk, jazz, techno/electronica, soul, tribal/ethnic, and Björk--she deserves her own genre --music lately, so it wouldn't surprise me if you noticed that in my more recent stuff. I hope to have at least one more little work up here by tonight, so stay tuned! :)

Yep.
And good luck with finishing the other stuff you mentioned.

It reminds me of a George Gershwin musical. If you do it in a production, though, get better stories than Gershwin. :P
Glad to have you back.

Oh please oh please, show me this when you finish! I love Eric Whitacre!

Hey nice to see you back ^_^
I liked the Flamingo one, sounds very happy, do you have sheets for them? :O
PS. I remember when I asked you for permission to play Pursuit of Happiness on a school performance, basicly everyone liked it :D

Thanks for all your feedback, guys! :D I really appreciate it. And it's really flattering that you actually took the time to learn and play that piece, PFK. :heh: I'm glad they liked it, but everyone knows that it's all about the performance... so props to you! XD I bet you play it amazingly well.
I know I said in a previous post that I'd post another composition... but I've been extremely busy. x_x I haven't abandoned the idea and I plan on getting something up soon, but it's gonna have to wait a little while. I hope you don't mind!
