Greetings all. I've been meaning to post my compositions up somewhere to share with people but I suppose I've been too scared to do so :heh: I haven't actually come up with any names for these songs, so if anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Any feedback will also be much appreciated.

Anyways, the first piece is a rock song. I suppose it doesn't have any context in anime or games, but it has some J-pop style influences in there.

The second piece is a ballad that's still in progress. Just had a bunch of ideas floating around and mashed them together into a song. So far, only have the chord progression and general structure down.

Cheers all, and thx for listening :)

In pop ballad, it sounded like you took a little tiny bit from from Inochi No Namae from Spirited Away :P I like that song.

I think I would actually listen to that pop song if it was performed live.

Not to mention the motif is exactly the same as my symphony's first movement. ._. But that's okay, at least it's used totally differently. I'm no expert in pop music, so I can't say much.

Haha now that you mention it it does sound a bit like it. I really love the music made by Joe Hisaishi in the studio Ghibli animes. Paying homage to a few of his themes isn't too much of a crime I hope ^.^

Also made a few changes to the piece, removed the 3rd section and put in an actual melody this time. Let me know what you think guys.

Both pieces were very enjoyable to me, despite the fact that I'm not big on either genre.:P One thing I liked in both was how you remove most voices before the ending - I really like the effect this gives. In the rock song, however, I think you could've used a better ending. Also, there was some weird dissonance at about 2:50.

Another update to the pop song. Also decided to name it Behind The Clouds.
The midi sounds were a bit screwed up last time when I saved it from Sibelius. Changed the structure a little bit, added another key change and made it a little bit more interesting.
Cheers all.

It's relaxing, the flute harmonizing is nice.

I can't write decent drum parts if my life depended on it, and I think you did a good job on that. The key-change comes in perfectly if you ask me!
