I just started composing my own music using Notepad. I'm trying to develop a sheet music read out for the Grand Fonic Hymn from Tales of the Abyss, but I'm having trouble gathering the chords from just listening to the song >.<

Anyways, I digress. All of you out threre who are just starting out or maybe know more than a thing or two, what's your advice for us newbies?

@ Mystearica: Are you talking composing or transcribing? Composing is to make a piece out of scratch while transcribing is translating music from audio to sheets.

@ Chestnutviolin: Look through Composition Programs Help thread.

I aslo have a new composer question. What programs are best for a mac comuter.Um. If you have money buy logic pro (1000 dollars though), if you have a bit of money buy logic express (300 some dollars), if you have barely any money get melody assistant (30 some dollars), if you have no money, stick with the iLife version of garageband =D. Good luck, hope this list helps!

Ah yes I am sorry. For that song, I was doing a transcription. I had forgotten what it was calle.d I am, however, working on my own song that, so far, only has a Melody line..... ^.^;;
