You ever had a FULL ROAST CHICKIN?! KFC fingering lickin good.

^but they usually discard the head of the chicken before putting it out on display?
Exactly. Plus they de-feather it and clean it out and crap. With lobsters and shrimp and oysters and stuff, you just beat your food to death and eat it. :x

that's a lie
lobsters you sever the spinal cord to kill them
shrimp you just remove the vein in the middle since that gets tough
oysters you just boil or just pop em open and eat em raw if you wish, but only if you trust your seafood provider

X

Besides seafood doesn't really look like a living creature.
I'd never try to hug a lobster.

I'm sorry to say, but that's not a vein, it's actually the digestive tract so it's really just "poop" :heh:

YOU COOK YUKKURI HOW COULD YOU

everyone knows they're all eaten raw

Made a curry fish with veg thing for lunch but while I was in the middle of eating it I remembered about this thread and quickly used my crappy-quality-webcam to take a pic x_x
maybe not so pretty-looking.
made from fish, snowpeas, eggplant, capsicum, onion and curry sauce with a bajillion spices

http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w13/Fimmu/100928-143509.jpg

*edit*
To make up with my random absence-ness of this thread, I took random pics of the never-ending-supply-of-leftovers-in-my-fridge
brought to you by the combined efforts of me and my mum x_x

I cook duh Noodle and duh fried rice 'cause im (part) asian, if you look below there's more fried rice
http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w13/Fimmu/P1010903.jpg

Even moar fried rice and grilled chicken wings (cant see them well)
and some ham for making sandwiches because apparently women make sandwiches

Chicken Rissoles
http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w13/Fimmu/P1010905.jpg

Furbob, why do you have 3 lots of leftover fried rice?
It's actually for my brother since he lives on it, like cow-to-grass, brother-to-fried rice. yep.

Sesame Chicken!

http://i432.photobucket.com/albums/qq43/GeckosGoMoo/SesameChicken003.jpg

So, my mom watches me cut the chicken and everything and put it in the batter and start to fry it, and then she's like "What the fuck are you doing?! Those pieces are huge. They should be three times as small. They get almost twice as big after you put them in the batter."
Which, now I know, is completely true, because not only did it take a lot longer to fry, but when I put a whole piece in my mouth, it got dry. Other than that though, PERFECTION.

HopelessComposer
October 3rd, 2010, 03:48 pm
The food looks good, too. :3~
I would have garnished each plate with sesame seeds separately, though, so each plate would look nice and fresh (perceptions are reality, lol). Dirty seeds make your food look like leftovers!

Whiplash

I did actually sprinkle more seeds on it before I ate and it did look much more fresh. I should have taken another picture.

Cooked spaghetti for the family tonight.

^...Because spaghetti doesn't count as cooking unless you garnish the shit out of it. ;D
...and use a nasty camera, lol.

I made some beef stir-fry a few weeks ago, and put it in a thermos in the fridge....I took it out tonight, dreading cleaning the inside of the thermos, since I was sure the thing would be full of like...mold and maggots - moldy maggots! But lo, I opened it up, and not only was there no mold, it still smelled edible.
I don't know if soy sauce is an amazing preservative or what, but I was very surprised, in any case.
I still tossed it though, obviously. XD

xpeed
July 30th, 2011, 05:00 am
^ haha, well, does it count if I say I made the sauce from scratch? XD

HopelessComposer
July 31st, 2011, 01:02 am
Well, you garnished it anyway, so you were already all set. But yeah, making the sauce from scratch earns you more credit, lol.

xpeed

Here's some tip: If you use olive oil and put the heat on medium to low, you will get moister chicken meat. Sprinkle some salt lightly and ground pepper and have them simmer in lemon juice and you're gold! :)

HopelessComposer
August 24th, 2011, 12:40 am
How do you know when chicken is done? I'm terrified of undercooking it, so I always overcook it. =(

I would like to know this too! XD

At xpeed: Thank you for that tip. I find it intriguing how it would taste once the chicken is simmered in lemon juice.

xpeed
August 24th, 2011, 02:40 am
The only way is to cook it at medium heat. Sear it on high, till the outer meat is golden brown on each side. This will actually lock in the flavor, then lower the heat to medium/medium low and cook it slowly. Depending on how thick the pieces are, it usually takes 5-15 minutes. The only sure way to know is to make a small cut at the thickest part of the meat. If it's white it's cooked.

Cooked up a new chicken dish and a Korean casserole.

Hmmm, wonder what will be made from these?
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/xpeed/Chicken-03.jpg

Bacon-wrapped chicken seasoned with lightly rubbed sea salt and ground pepper. Goes well with sticky white rice and sauteed cherry tomatoes.

It was really good, super interesting flavor when paired with butter and blueberry jam we got from France because of the spices in it. I'm so lucky to have a boyfriend with a degree in culinary arts and nutrition!

HopelessComposer

I was thinking toaster at first, too. But then I remembered that I learned that toasters leave a more reddish tint to their horrible grainy photos in my photography class, where this one is more yellowish. It's hard to tell sometimes, with these homegrown photography types. XD

It was just a filter program on my phone, get over yourself = =;;
Easier said than done, my friend. Do you just tell people to "get over Everest?" To "get over the moon?" To "get over God?"
If you have, then you're a very demanding person, but you understand the magnitude of what you're asking me to do. I can't just get over myself so easily!
