I think angelic is trying to state that he does not like your incorrect english.

Please do not use AOL Speek ('u', 'ur', 'ne 1', etc.) If you are too lazy or stupid to use normal English, don't expect anyone to want to read your post.

And please refrain from double posting. There is an edit button on the bottom right corner of your post.

Moving that aside...

Yes, I do agree japanese episodes are much better than the dubs. I saw one ep of FMA dubbed and it was okay. Better than some other dubs I've seen (one peice anyone?). However, remember that FMA is licensed and talking about downloading japanese subs for FMA is considered illegal here.

^Not entirely. There is the "grey zone" that has been discussed on other boards. So long as you purchase the original medium of the material, the purchaser rightfully owns a personal a license on the object at hand ([anime in this case]). This basically allows you to keep other copies (this includes fansubing of the anime) elsewhere on your hard disk drive, CD, DVD. So long as you hold physical proof that you have purchased the episode in question, you are safe.

I've done very little research on this, so I cannot say that the above is gospel, but I do know the laws.

I do this all the time, because most DVD translators don't get the proper personality of the character in the text.

And (on an unrealted and related note) am I the only one that thinks Ed's Seiyuu sounded like she had something in her mouth the entire series?

I watched FMA yesterday on DVD disks 1-4
I realizes that Al's voice sounded like an eight year old's...
I guess since he doesn't have a body to age in his voice doesn't age either?

:p Maybe not... I prefer Ed's Japanese voice actor, even if she is female :3 Ed's voice is better feminine, XD

Hello, i've just recently downloaded FMA Movie and i'd been waiting for ages to watch it, but it's all in japanese with no subs! ><!! soo pee-ed off! Is there anyone who would be willing to sub it.. if anyone knows how to? or do u know people who can? :heh:

(just read that baka updates had fma movie) Are you serious!? cus i downloaded it from baka-updates, but it didn't have any subtitles?!!

kkleung
February 6th, 2006, 08:02 pm
yeah it does, it's the PSYKE release. it's MKV (if i remember correclty) so u need the right codecs to see the subs i think.

Moonlight_stalker
February 7th, 2006, 07:19 pm
ohhhhh i c! i was using VLC player... so i guess it did't show the subs. Thanks anyways, but i found another file, waiting for it to load ^^! can't wait!

Moonlight_stalker

Ha-ha-ha! yeh i turned the subs on, i went mad! >< i had been waiting for soo long and it wudn't play! O.o! oh well i found the Redstorm version on Mininova.com n i just finished it! ^^!

It's quite gd, but i think sum of it was a bit of a let down, and personally i think the first 40mins wasn't much action, but its still one of the best anime eva!

N i've heard there's goin to b a second series! n_________n!

kkleung
February 8th, 2006, 07:24 pm
where'd you hear that? I thought it was pretty much decided that the series was over. Especially with Ed and Al in this world.

not to mention, i kind of don't want another series (at least with the same characters). It had a solid end and I just don't want it to go so long it looses its flavor. Although, a story involving the same world might be good.

Moonlight_stalker
February 8th, 2006, 08:47 pm
Well my friend said he read that there 'may' be another series.

I duno, i think the film left quite a few openings for a new story, and as they are in our world, i guess they'll meet new people! -shrugs-

I wud like them to continue fma, but as long as it doesn't dry up and ruin the whole series, and they must make sure that theres a solid plot. None of them random fillers lik in naruto and bleach (althought the bleach ones alrite)

February 8th, 2006, 08:59 pm
The sequal is the movie.

All I could find (after searching the release prespecives for the next 4 years) is the OVA (http://anidb.info/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4269). It comes out in late March.

My family things im really weird because when somthing bad happens to a game character or someone from a show or movie I feel bad. I mean, I have more emotions for those who die in cartoons then those I see on the news....

Im half way through FMA epi 15. I feel really bad and really really sad and angry.... And the nerve of the people to laugh when they are doing what they are!!!

I've seen the entire series, in English dub of course. I'd watch it in Japanese sub but I can't really find alot of episodes on Youtube. That's strange, since Fullmetal Alchemist has been on Adult Swim longer than Naruto, yet you can find nearly all the sub Naruto episodes on Youtube now. x_x

Anyway, there both great, but I think I like Fullmetal a tad more than Naruto. My favorite character would have to me Jean Havoc, followed closely by Greed, Lust, and Alphonse Elric.

Oh, by the way, I love Scar too. I think his characters rather sad, since he lost his brother over his obsession with bringing back his girlfriend. Poor Scar. I'm still wondering what his real name is though. -_-

My favorite episodes are 30-34 since you see bits of Greed in them, and episode 22. Of course my favorite episode would have to be episode 37 "Flame Alchemist And the bachelor Lieutenant" or something like that. Poor Jean Havoc, I don't understand why it's so hard for the poor chap to find a girlfriend.

Most of all, I ADORE then openings and endings. And the theme "Brat'ja" I've been trying to lay my hands on the piano sheets and violin instrumental to the song, so far, unsuccessful. <_<

I've been reading the manga, I've only gotten up to the first five volumes, but it's good. I need to catch up on volumes six, seven, and eight.

The American dubs of anime always have ridiculous voice overs... i mean i've only seen bits of it, but in the parts i have seen, Ed sounds silly on so many levels, Lust sounds like a prostitute and Envy sounds like a 12 yr old girl with hormonal problems and who is on crack...

I think it's sad that all the Homunculus had to die.... it's racism!! I mean, yeah kill off some of them, but you know... and Envy, Gluttony and Wrath didn't even get a decent death like the other four :(

I really like this series. It's one of my favorite anime to date. I saw the ending tonight and it was sad. They went through all that just for that to happen in the end. The only problem I have w/ the series is the love interests. If you watch the series, you know who. Some people were easy to tell, some were stuck and never evolved while a few just came out of nowhere.
Rose saying "I love you" to Edward both delighted and confused me. I like the idea of them being a couple but it came kinda late and it never really explained why she loves him.

A few days ago I was looking around in a FMA site... and maybe I found what you say. Are you sure that "Ed is the new pride" was an official news? I know that there's a chinese fangame with many endings, and in one ending Ed become the new Pride, maybe because in the game Al is feeling very bad and he want to save him. I suppose.

P.S. Here in Italy we are at the sixth number of the manga... and in the anime we are at the third season's beginning... I wanna see the film T.T

There's no official word on another FMA series that I'm aware of. There hasn't been a CREQ at Anidb, nor word at AnimeNFO about it either.

Welcome to the wonderful world of information gathering.

Ok, I thought it was a game, but then I saw some anime-ish pictures on one of the sites and I asumed that it was maybe a new season in Japan.

Oh i saw that before. It's one of those fangames. I think they wanted something to do in their spare time. Is it called Bluebird's Illusion?

the full metal alchemist manga version has a lot of different points to the anime version. the characters look better in the anime but the manga story is better, in my opinion.~
[i'm sorry for aru :( ]

I finally finished the anime.

I have to say towards the beginning it was slightly boring me, but that's probably mainly because it was following the manga to closely, but once it started going way off from the manga it became so much more interesting... I loved it. Especially the later episodes. Very emotional, and it just shows you how much they truly care for each other.

I believe it is coming to Adult Swim very very soon (Early Nov 6th) for US and the dub looks alright I guess X_X Ed sounds weir-rd as.
What's wrong with Vic Mignogna (english Ed)? He did Dark in DN Angel too.

It's one my favourite animes. I love Roy Mustang. (Why didn't I notice this thread before...) Their image songs are great!

I absolutely ADORE Fullmetal Alchemist. :D It's by far my favorite anime series. I've seen the entire series four times (if my memory serves me correctly) :heh: so if anyone has any questions about it, I can try to help!

I'm so upset that the series ended. However, although there's no plans of a second season, the manga series does take a very different storyline at around volume 7 or 8 I believe. I can't remember the exact volume, I last read it a while ago. I highly suggest checking into them, they're much, much different from the anime. ^_^

with the manga though isnt there a manga version of the anime and the original manga?

because i only seem to be able to find the manga version of the anime.

I don't believe that there are separate manga series for FMA - one for the anime and one for the manga itself. I know that the anime series on TV did follow the manga almost completely, at least up until volume 7 or so. Some events were out of order, but the general concepts were almost identical. Later on, Arakawa gave permission for FUNimation to take a different tangent and follow a different plot so that the manga can continue while the anime ends. This was also decided because the anime was being released on TV faster than the manga volumes were able to be published.
Either way, as far as I know, there's only one manga series. Did that help clear things up at all? :)

So it appears that we will be getting a re-make of the Full Metal alchemist series that is due to premier in Japan in April of this year...

My question is why? (Beside the whole milking for what its got.)

Interesting... I didn't think the original season was all that bad, maybe the ending could have been better explained, but overall it was one of the better series around back then.

I'm not sure what they're planing this time. Perhaps they want to follow the manga all the way through and make it like a 200+ ep shonen series? =p

Well, I guess it'd make sense if it was a remake. A sequel wouldn't work in any way possible since they ended it that way (and the movie's conclusion didn't help open any possible sequel either)

But if they remake it, I'd like to see the original storyline followed. They changed many things from the manga when they made it into an anime, though it was pretty good overall.

I'm getting a bit tired of all the remakes we're getting these days :(

I FREAKIN love FMA!!!!
I have all the mangas, all the episodes on DVD, and I collect the shirts and action figures and stuff!!

It was the first ever anime for me. That was the one my friend introduced me to. (which I wish it weren't, so that other anime could have a chance at being great in my world lol). I mean, c'mon. If you watch the best first, then all the rest isn't as great as they really might've been. Don't you agree?

I have yet to find another anime that thrills me as FMA, but Im still searching.
I have found worth while things (they are prolly very great in reality lol), but they still don't satisfy the taste. >.<

Oh well.
