Somebody on the first page said something about listening to Carmina Burana, and I just have to say... we played that in our high school last year. It's a really fun, somewhat easy and long piece. Really gorgeous, and powerful. I'm in the mood to listen to it again, now. I recommend it to anyone looking for a song to obsess over. x3

And I don't know if I've posted this yet, but in my high school, we're learning this piece entitled Vesuvius. It's not too hard, though it changes its time signature from 4/4 to 9/8, back to 4/4, then to 8/8. I don't wanna post all of the time changes in their order, but those are just some of them. The rest include 3/4, 2/4, 11/8, 3/2, 1/4, and I think that's it. This forces the player to pay attention. You can't doze off, now. x3 There are so many runs in the first clarinet part, consisting an entire 3/4 measure multiple times, going from a B (In the staff), to a high F, as in above the staff. Really fun. Hehe. Then, at the end, not only are there sixteenth-note runs from the same F down to a high B, but then the first clarinet part contains the highest trill I've yet been forced to do. It's from the very same, famous high F up to a G. It's not as hard as I thought it would be. Its main tempo is at around 168, so it's really fast-paced. Loads of fun, though I struggle with the high sixteenth-notes at that speed. Not to mention that near the middle and around the end, several instruments get the chance to play these sixteenth-notes. They're almost tossed around, and it I feel that sounds like it wouldn't make too much sense, but the music CRIES OUT for it. It's like it wouldn't be Vesuvius without those phrases. And the sixteenth-notes make so much sense, it's unbelievable. Really makes me appreciate the other players even more, now.
