I've been listening to The Scientist (Coldplay) a lot lately. Actually, it's been so much that I decided to arrange it for Alto Sax, and I'm gonna record it for a friend of mine and give her the Piano sheets I made for it. :)

The rhythm section (piano, bass, drums) of our school's "Hybrid Ensemble" ("vocal jazz" group that plays a wide variety of styles) is doing this for our feature. Quite a hard progression to play (let alone to transcribe and solo on...) anyway, check it out. It's amazing:

It's something new and different. I never really hear the elements they have in the song used much like other bands do, especially if you hear other songs of theirs. No, they aren't the next greatest artistic act of all time, but there's something to be said about a group that can create a unique atmosphere.
