Fantasy, Sci-fiction, Mystery, Thrillers and Suspense. I am never the type for romance, though I had read a few books from 'Love Stories' series.
I also read a few gamebooks. Only prefer those from Lone Wolf series.
For Non-Fiction books, I prefer to read up on the Drawing and Painting, (Arts mostly), and try to drawing animation. :neko: I also like history and of course, brush up or learning new programming lang.

horror with romance and action... like the 'fearless' series ^_^ horror books don't quite scare me though =/ V.C Andrews' books are all chracterized by horror, but none of them are scary (to me)... sci-fi and fantasy are good genres too.

Anything on Patton, Rommel, the African campaign (the battles at El Alemein, Tobruk, the formation of the British S.A.S., etc), guns, and survival/combat training.
If there was one book I could choose over all others, though, one that I could spend the rest of my existence pouring over the pages if, by odd chance, I'm stuck on a deserted island with my choice of book, it would have to be the Speer Reloading Manual, 13th Edition.
However, I have to admit, they don't have enough listings for more interesting, fun combinations of powder and weights/types of bullets.

I don't read often, unless it is something I have to read for school work. But if I do read, I like fantasy, horror, action, and a little bit of romance types.

Romance, Fantasy, and super-angstness are my favorites.
My fantasy and romance a lot of times go hand in hand but I just can't seem to find a really really angsty book... So I resort to fanfictions.
If anyone has an suggestions for super sad books, tell me!

Hmmmm....pretty much what Neerolyte said. Fantasy is top of the list, followed probably by humour, then crime. Some romance is good, but I like it to have a decent plot behind it. Basically, I'll try anything once, book wise.

I thought I was more into Science Fiction/Fantasy or Action. I'm also pretty heavy into Crime Fiction too but I recently read Cloudstreet by Tim Winton which was none of the above and it has become my favourite book.
It's drama :)
I think I'm versatile really ~

I enjoy the mystery and fantasy genre. I also like reading true crime books (some can be really sick and twisted and leave you mentally paralyzed for days). I tend to stay far away from romance and sci-fi. Don't know why, just don't like them. Fiction with a touch of history is always interesting to read. So far this summer, these are the books I've read:
"Gates of Fire" by Steven Pressfield (highly recommended if you like history about the Ancient Spartans)
"Harry Potter" (all 6 books) by JK Rowling
"Clan of the Cave Bear" by Jean M. Auel
"Journey into Darkness" & "Obsession" by John Douglas
"The Silmarillion" by JRR Tolkien

You're a "NIMH" fan too?! Excellent!!! :woohoo: Which book is your favorite? (I love "Mrs. Frisby" and "Racso", not as big on "R-T, Margaret".) Are you a fan of the movie as well?
