I would like to hear some of your playing if you do not mind. You do not have to worry about sounding good. I am a beginning cellist myself. The stuff I posted sounds pretty bad, but I am getting better already. I should be posting by next Monday at the latest. My boss put me on notice to be ready to work this Thanksgiving I will post something if I do not have to work. I was thinking Minuet in G. I used Audacity for my recordings because it is easy to use and the software is free software. I have Cubase with a Focusrite audio interface, but I have not used it because Audacity is so easy to use. You can download it here:
http://www.downloadinfo.co/lp/review/audacity/MTI0NTU2Nzk3NV81Mjk0MzY3MGUzM2I2/?kw=audacity+download&subid=DIAUUS&cust=audacity+download&type=audacity&gclid=CNfi0J7ggbsCFfA7Mgod-gYAfw&utm_campaign=DIAUUS&fwd=1&rnd=02a9ff6c3a10043addd6b50b27817c5cafbb5ae1&ts=1385444976
You can use any cheap microphone you can get. You can use the internal microphone should you have a laptop. Audacity is very easy to use and it is FREE!

I don't have any recordings, sorry. Well, at least none that i'd like to share! I'd rather not subject you all to the horror that is my guitar playing! I might have some in the future though...

It can't be that bad. And even if it is (lol), there's nothing that can go wrong.
How about posting something before the end of this year? :D

Hehe thanks Le Wiz
Btw I visited your blog and read your "about me" section. I find it kind of crazy how me and you are almost exactly the same. :heh: I also started out on the guitar, but after listening to some anime songs, transitioned over to piano because the songs I wanted to play were not playable on the guitar (well technically they are, it's just very difficult x_x ) After that I self taught myself through anime and video game music since I watch a lot of anime and play games, the music is really all I listen to. It's been 8 years since then and I'm still continuing to learn, although I don't practice as much as I did when I first started (4 hours daily) :bleh: Yeah, I was really passionate about learning the piano to play songs that I enjoyed. I also started my YouTube channel as a way to measure my progress throughout the years.

Hey Le Wiz! How do you record your piano covers? You've got a clean and expressive sound in your videos!!

I got my hands on a VSTi called EZPiano (better ones are probably Synthogy, or alicia's keys)
I record the midi with a "midi to usb cable". I do it directly into EZPiano, but it is also possible to import midi's into the program. After recording/ importing into the program, I play around with the sound effects a little and Then I export it as a wave file, open Audicity (free program), and boost the sound a little.
I'm new to recording myself so my knowledge is not broad, but if you need help, let me know (send me a message on YT or for a quicker response and easier chattibg, on facebook :D)
