I've yet to try Dirge. Vincent is my all time favorite character ever but I just couldn't bring myself to pay 70 bucks for such a short game. I went to rent it a few times but it was never in. :/ I guess it's pretty cheap now... I should go look for it.

Hehe, I used to only have old-school GBA, then I got my DS last week 8D Today I picked up "Revenant Wings", it's sating my need to play more XII after I finished the main plot. And yes, XII has divided the FF fanbase quite a bit, and we've been through this. If you wanna know what it's like, just play it :P

I love the portableness of handhelds, because it means I can still play games even on the bus! 8D With Chocobo Tales and Ring of Fates out now, those are two more FF titles on the DS. I think there's a Tactics A2? Not sure which platforms it's gunna be on though. Ah, I'm really turning into an FF nerd...even though I haven't played any of the classic FF games (pre-XI). I just love the series and cant get enough of it, though personally i think 12 was wank, no story, no character development, and the final boss battle wasnt epic at all. on saying that ive just recently completed crisis core. i absolutely loved the game, still didnt quite feel like a final fantasy to me coz i prefer the turn based battle system. altho the last battle with genesis wasnt epic either

FF XI was a total let down, It's on the internet and from what my friend says it's not worth the money you have to pay for it. Basically you have to buy it at the store, then you have to pay to play it. you HAVE to have internet, and it costs you money to play a game you own. I'm not even going to bother with that one.

I like all the FF games, though the FFTs have gotten a little too childish in their storyline. My favorite FF game was Crystal Chronicles for game cube, but since I don't own it I'm screwed... FF 8 is my other favorite, but that might have something to do with my big brother never letting me play enough to get passed the first disc of FF VII. I don't own it now, but I wish I did. *sigh* I loved the movie though, and Dirge of Cerberus was interesting.

... I played every Final Fantasy from the I to the XII, except the 11.

I began (maybe an error, I don't remember my preterites) by the 6, and it took me a time to understand the gameplay. It was a downloaded ROM, I didn't have a notice or explanations. But once the game mastered, I reached the Kefka's Tower... I never finished it, I was too scary of being defeated...

Then I tried the fourth. Of course it looked primitive compared to the sixth. And I found this one more difficult. "Gratiné", just like I said on MSN.

The fifth is still one of those I liked the less. Because of the few characters, especially a main character perfectly useless, and an atmosphere a little too... light.

But he one I liked the less is without any doubt the third ! I played it four hours before I stopped. Uninterresting ! No scenario, no difficulty (and I played the original NES version !), nothing to save...

However, the first was nervous enough to bring me to the end... (in french : le premier était assez nerveux pour me mener jusqu'à la fin) and the second has a so wonderful scenario, better than the one of the fourth, and a gameplay so... new, so special, so "innovant" (not sure that word exist in english) ! Too bad it's not as well-known as it deserve...

The seventh, even if the tiny main character and his bloody hairs, that could make the president of Garnier to suicide himself, and that bloody crazy weirdo of big-vilain are really a pain, is my favourite game of the serie. For Vincent Valentine, for the scenario really complete and for the atmosphere really not too light and not too dramatic, for Aerith's death.

The eigth is very special, but I didn't find him so unpleasant... I liked the gameplay with association of magics, even if it was a little complicate at the beginning. And besides... There is the most charismatic feminine character of all the video games in this soft : Linoa Heartilly. The perfection of chara design and psychology.

The ninth... I played when I was in great sorrow, in deep loneliness... So it is hard for me to talk about. It's obviously an excellent game, but I disliked the scenario and all those revelations only at the end.

The tenth... All those colours hide the maturity of the story, and the characters are a little "few-minded" (don't knw how to say "deux de tension" in english) but it's a good game, relaxing and exciting by the same time.

The twelve... is lazy. In french, I should say "Ce jeu est mou dans son action comme dans sa narration". I stopped it some months before to restart, because I felt like if I could fall asleep while playing, even in the hardiest bosses ! I continue it now, but I have still work before I can finish it !

The horrible thing is that I've never completed a FF game in my life, but I know the music like the back of my hand and the stories (most of them) pretty well. I've tried completing the games, but I'm just a bad player haha!

It's not that 7 is bad or anything, its one of the more decent of the series to be honest. Its just the hyped fankids that scream in orgasm everytime they see some cloud x sephiroth doujin and shit like that that makes you hate the whole thing. Meh, I hate Cloud and Sephiwuss without that bias anyway.

Maybe, but 6 is just better than 7. To me, 7 lacks something 6 has. Maybe it's just the badguy, I mean, Kefka is a thousand times cooler than Sephiwuss could ever be, but that's enough of a reason. You've mentioned it, Kefka's what makes FF6 the coolest of all, just because he's genuinely insane, which in itself is awesome :)

Seriously! Sephiroth is just sort of mellow-type insane and he's just sort of dramatic. Kefka is just full out insane!

The problem is as well, both of them had absolutely "killer" (I NEVER use this word!) battle themes. Dancing Mad and One Winged Angel are my favourite battle themes in the whole series.

FF8 won't work on my telly :( for some reason, as soon as the game goes to the main menu, the sound stops working (everything works fine before that).

Never been a fan of FF. Just was always a big guy on Zelda. I've been aching for a good MMO the last several months. . .so I bought FFXIV, taking both a risk of the horrible reviews it got and also trusting the the recent patches fixed what was "so terrible" when it was released.

The creator said that they'll make a sequel to Final Fantasy XIII if they sell well in the west... Which happens to come true and... well... Final Fantasy XIII-2 is going to be released Winter of 2012. If it has a great storyline, more Lightning and less Vanille, then I'm cool with it.

I've been waiting for Final Fantasy Versus XIII for about..... 6 years I believe?? Anyways, looks amazing, I believe Shimomura's composing for it, which gives me another reason to get the game.

I've read a lot of the Final Fantasy series. That being said, I'm not a die-hard fan or anything like that, I simply know it exists and I haven't really played most of them. The closest I've come to playing any Final Fantasy game was playing 7 on my sister's PS2 casually when I was around 5, playing 12 casually on my sister's PS2 when I was around 10 (both too young to remember anything) and watching my little sister playing X and X-2 on the PS2 occasionally.

I guess I was the survival-horror-oriented baby :3 While my sisters were RPG and my brother was mainly FPS and Action in terms of genre.

However, I'm really getting into the music. I've listened to a lot of the OST's and holy shiz, I kid you not when I say that a lot of them are very magical and nostalgic to me, even though I haven't (technically) played any FF games. I will in the future, however, it's just really hard for me to get into RPG of any type except for some Tales of games...-_- So, while I'm at it, can someone recommend me the best Final Fantasy to play and any other RPG's that will lure in a non-RPG player like me?

A lot of old school players will swear by FF6 (many from that same group also like to say that 7 was over-rated, heh).

Personally, I've played 5 through 10, and the tenth was my favorite, even with the "questionable" voice-acting. The Final Fantasy series ended at 10 for me. I haven't played any that came out after that, so I can't give you any recommendation about the ones after FFX. =|

Heard that in Final Fantasy XIII-2, there's going to be multiple endings.

I like final fantasy series and it is really very great and impressive. I really like it. It has a best story and very intreating. I think the important advantage of this game is generally not too hard to understand, the graphics are very good. It is very easy game to playing.

Director Hajime Tabata mentioned the presence of a 13th main character for Type-0. He brought this up during an interview for Square Enix's Gan Gan Comic Magazine. Other fun facts mentioned during the interview include:

•On second play through, you'll get to experience a different story surrounding class 0


Quon (VA: Ryoutarou Okiayu)

Suzaku's Magic Researcher. He always has the latest in relation to magic, which is also his only interest, basically.

World Map

You are only able to go adventuring on Suzaku territory, but as you go winning more territories you'll be able to explore more. In the school there are several characters and objects to interact with. The tonberry is recommended*

In the world map you can also see wild chocobos walking around, which you have to tame in order to ride.

Interview with Battle Director Yuji Kenichirou and Lead Player Action Designer Ooe Taisuke.

Ooe: Regarding battles, the main goal was representing war in a fantasy world. This can be seen in when you see the lifes of allies, enemies and companions fade. Director Hajime Tabata stressed the whole team about the importance of this.

Yuji: Unlike enemies in typical RPGs, using the kill sight system you can easily defeat enemies which creates a certain feeling of tension.

Ooe: Ace is one of the main characters but unlike the others he has a special weapon. His attacks are suitable for begginers since they allow attacking from a distance making avoiding incoming enemy attacks easier.

Ooe: Queen is somewhere between your regular comittee member/class president/some other similar occupation and a mass slaughter machine. She carries a sword but that doesn't hinder her. She's also good with magic. During battle you can see under her skirt which is kind of amusing.

Yuji: Nine is similar to Queen but more focused on strength. He's good with critical hits, which might not seem like much at first but it gets very thrilling. Using him by randomly having him attack everything all over the place isn't a very good way to use him though.

Yuji: Sice is like a typical dark heroine who mows down enemies.

Ooe: King is probably the second hardest to control character

Yuji: Because he carries two small guns it might give the impression that he's a frail and weak character but in reality he's quite the contrary. The closer you are to the enemy the biggest the damage dealt will be.

Yuji: Eight is my favorite character. Similarly to a beat-em'-up game, the timing along with how long you hold down the attack button plus what you input with the analog stick affect his attacks. You can also cancel his attacks to make infinite combos. Mixing all these will allow you to take out his true potential. He's a very energetic character.

Ooe: Jack wasn't present in the demo but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised once you play as him. This decision came from the development staff. His fighting style is similar to the Jigen-ryuu.

Yuji: Seven to me is the kind of character who likes to toy with enemies. Her fighting style allows her to do attack that cover a wide area which make her easy to use, but it might get monotonous.

Ooe: While attacking she can't move leaving her exposed to the enemies, whcih is why evading enemy attacks and timing yours properly is key, which is fun.

Yuji: Deuce has a lot of attacks designer specifically for her. Normally the AI of your other party members has them attack enemies different than the one you're targeting, but when Deuce plays her music they direct their attacks to the one you have locked on. This makes her a useful support character for difficult missions.

Ooe: Cinque is a character similar to Jack.

Yuji: Cinque has a low attack speed which makes it difficult to kill sight with, but her normal combo deals much more damage compared to the others which makes her fun to play.

Yuji: Trey is hard to describe since he uses a bow and arrows which makes him seem very simplistic. Ooe: Trey's forte are long range distance attacks. If you hold down the attack button you can charge the arrows and have them deal greater damage and extend their range. He's better than King or Ace at taking down enemies from a distance.

Yuji: Cater was one of the characters who needed the most fine tuning. In order to differentiate her from King we had her use a magic gun which uses special bullets with all sorts of effects. Unlike King who can move and fire at the same time, Cater has to stop moving to shoot. To compensate her movement speed is higher.

Yuji: Rem and Machina are also part of the group of main characters. Rem is a magic oriented character, which made her a bit overpowered at first so we had to adjust her. Unlike other characters her magical power stat is about twice as big and she can equip two magic spells from the start.

Ooe: Her abilities allow her to replenish her own MP giving her an unlimited supply of it, which also serves to differentiate her from the rest of the characters

Yuji: Machina on the other hand isn't a magic oriented character. His biggest feature is the ability to create a 10 hit combo with his dual rapiers. On the demo it was a bit hard to aim but it's been adjusted since. During the second half of the combo it cannot be interrupted.

Ooe: This is the first time a game has had so many different play styles and battle systems so I hope you'll have fun finding your own.

Ooe: This game has a very different atmosphere from others in the series so I hope fans are able to feel all the spirit the staff put into it

Smokes. Final Fantasy Type-0 is selling like hot cakes, people. On its second week, it sold a total of about 530,000 and that DOES NOT include the digital download... :O

*Edit: I meant, about 600,000 in total with the sale from the first and second week.

Media Create Sales numbers have come in and FF Type-0 has sold approximately 122,000 copies in it's second week of it's release and about 594,000 copies overall. These numbers are quite impressive so far. Japan is loving FF Type-0 right now. Also, keep in mind that these sales don't even include the digital copies.
