What's the big deal with the pair up thread anyway? It was fun while it lasted, but ended years ago, and now new members are bitching about it? *stabs*

One month later… Congratulations, Gand :)

By the way, could someone fix the Search mod above? We always need to go to “Advanced Search”…

And couldn't it be possible to make a special parameter for topics in “Sheet Music Requests”, so that people can know in the sheet music requested in a topic is finally available? Something like a “Done!” tag, like “[Solved]” in forums where people asks questions.

M

The search feature is broken due to the old skin not supporting the new version of the forum software. Gand mentioned something about changing the skin in mid spring.

you can see all the pages a visitor looks at when browsing the visitors and clicking the look for the last page and thats the last page they browsed, is that what you mean?

Hey, when I go to upload PDF's, the attachment window says that the file size limit for PDF's is 5Mb. I have yet to upload a PDF greater than 1Mb. Is the upload limit supposed to be 1Mb or 5Mb?

M
August 23rd, 2010, 08:39 pm
As it stands, the forum's PDF limits are set to 5242880 bytes (which is 5MBs). And you shouldn't even be close to hitting your maximum quota.

In regards to Ichigos.com, you'll need to query Gand about that.

Yup, this is in regards to the forums. The PDF file I was trying to upload was 2.11Mb and I keep getting errors with PDF file around that size. Is it my PC then?

Ander had problem also uploading an mp3 in the composition forum. I tried to upload it to check and it failed, I tried uploading another mp3 and it failed also. I tried a midi and it worked.

M

What is the exact error? Is it connection interrupted, bad request, or a particular forum message (if you can, may I see a screen shot of the error).

Also, I may be able to review the forum logs to further narrow down the problem if you can give me a date and time (with timezone)

Nyu001

"Upload of file failed."

That is what it says after I press 'upload', wait a few mins or secs then it gives me that message in the manage attachment's window.

I have had the same problems with .mp3s. As a test, I tried uploading one of my compositions:

http://i38.tinypic.com/hsm96v.png

The Duo .mp3 file is 2.26 MB. I also attempted to upload a 1.89 MB .mp3 file and a 0.98 MB .mp3 file, both of which uploaded successfully. However, as you can see in the "Max Filesize" column for .mp3 files, 10.00 MB is the limit and there shouldn't be a problem with uploading a 2.26 MB .mp3 file as the one that is used here.

M

Interesting. I've tried uploading a 9.98 MB mp3 using LAME and MP3-123 file and it filtered through just fine.

Could I have you try doing it again? I'm going to try and update the file filter just in case something became broken over time.

clarinetist
August 23rd, 2010, 11:01 pm
Still hasn't worked (unless you haven't changed it yet :heh: ). I use Audacity 1.3.12-beta which uses LAME 3.98.2 for .mp3 exporting.

M

Hmm. This may be a Gand question as well.

The functionality is there otherwise I wouldn't be able to upload the 9 MB file using a Member privileged account. Similarly, it's not an account queue size as Porsche is into the 200 MB range whereas you're at the 140 MB range. Also, it's not a limitation set by the number of uploads as you have about 400 attachments and Porsche has about 300.

As it turns out, I can't access the transaction log for the forum get/posts, so I can't really debug the server side possibilities. I'll forward this to Gand.

Yup, that is the same error I was getting. Thanks for your help M! :thumb:

Can you try again now? PHP's post_max_size and upload_max_filesize got reset to default during the Great Server Crash/Rebuild. Not sure why it works for you, M. You must have ninja powers :ninja:

Let me know.

Hello everyone,I have a problem with uploading my piano transcription of One Piece's 4th Movie - 13. "Because we're Alive".

Whenever I try to upload it, I get the message:
There is a problem with your submission.
Invalid file type (application/x-pdf) or no PDF file specified. Please upload a PDF file.

..while my file is clearly pdf and the midi is of course included too. I allready tried to contact through the formula two times, but yet, nobody did reply to that.

Ok, I don't know if I'am allowed to do that in this forum, but here is the link to..

No response again?
Is there really no chance that someone (and I guess not the only one) with uploading problem can go through? I mean, its not like we're requesting something expensefull or serious efforts. In some manner we are even supporting the site.

M
September 17th, 2010, 09:12 pm
The lack of response is because Gand is the only one that can investigate this problem. From what I've seen, the PDF and MIDI files are valid in both MIME and Magic, so the server should accept them.

I wish I could help you with this, but, like I said, Gand is the only one with access to the main site.

No problems on my end. I was able to upload your files in a random thread in the Sheet Music Requests section.

Perhaps the forum has a restriction that prevents low-post-count members to upload files...

Hah! Anything okay know, I solved it by installing Opera. Seems like for some reason Firefox did interfere with the file transmission.
But for protocol: It still just happend on this site, which could of course mean everything.

^.^ It was a problem with Ichigos original site. I just didn't upload the files directly here, because I had prepared the upload first and than started posting.

New layout on the homepage: http://ichigos.com/

Basically the old home page was pretty useless... this one is designed to give people quick access to what they actually came to Ichigo's for: Sheets. Also the forum section should drive some traffic to the forums.

Thoughts/comments? Useful/cluttered? It's not exactly web 2.0 but I'm not exactly an javascript programmer :P

Oh, I like the add of the latest forum threads. I hope that help to increase activity/interest!

I just thought that would be really cool if were possible to do the same with the composition department. But like adding the latest original composition posted but in a player that is updated automatically. Then next to it the composer's username and a link to the thread. xP I guess that is not possible, lol.

It's good - not cluttered at all.

I'm digging the new New Sheets and the Community sections. They give off the feeling that this place is active and bustling.

Sweet~ It's easier to search for music sheets now. Thanks. Anyhow, this should be very helpful if someone doesn't want to search the whole entire list. :P

Anything is possible, but the hard part there would be figuring out which posts are new compositions.

I highly doubt that it's my adobe acrobat because it works fine on the others. Then again, I could be wrong. Please look into it.
