It is an illusion that youth is happy, an illusion of those who have lost it; but the young know they are wretched, for they are full of the truthless ideals which have been instilled into them, and each time they come in contact with the real they are bruised and wounded.

-W. Somerset Maugham

Happiness is only real when shared.

Good and evill we know in the field of this World grow up together almost inseparably; and the knowledge of good is so involv'd and interwoven with the knowledge of evill, and in so many cunning resemblances hardly to be discern'd, that those confused seeds which were impos'd on Psyche as an incessant labour to cull out, and sort asunder, were not more intermixt.

What are the symptons of being in love? Three things.

First, absolute contentment. Nothing else is needed; not even God is needed.
Second, no future. This very moment of love is eternity. No next moment, no future, no tomorrow. Love is a happening in the present.
And third, you cease to be, you are no more. If you still are, then you have still not entered the temple of love. - Osho

You can't get away. You can only love. You can live in fear, or you can dance with her. And when you love her without holding back, when you see her as she really is, through and through, she dies in bliss. You know? Only bliss. But if you can't get her to spread her legs, if you won't even drink a beer, if you are too uptight to breathe her down to here, then she's just gonna laugh at you. We're talking about a big lady. A very big lady. Your agenda doesn't mean shit to her.

"Obama is dead" - many people

Funny typo is not funny; alas, the US NSA is now at my door.

Nyu001

More than a typo, it came from the mouth of many people that said accidentally Obama instead of Osama at work, home and other places.

In its hurry to break the news of Osama bin Laden’s death, an affiliate of Fox News, Fox40, got its spelling mixed up and announced that Obama Bin Laden was dead. Later, the channel apologised for getting it wrong and a section on its Websi...te “Osama v. Obama: One-Letter Mistake” talked of how various networks and TV stations also got it wrong. “Both CNN and Fox News,” the posting read, “made the mistake of saying Obama when they meant Osama.” If that wasn’t enough, the posting went on to say, “According to what people posted on Twitter, ABC News posted it on their Website ... twice.”

"There is a moral panic in America over young women’s sexuality- and it’s entirely misplaced. Girls 'going wild' aren’t damaging a generation of women, the myth of sexual purity is. The lie of virginity -the idea that such a thing even exist- is ensuring that young women’s perception of themselves is inextricable from their bodies, and that their ability to be moral actors is absolutely dependent on their sexuality. It’s time to teach our daughters that their ability to be good people depends on their being good people, not on whether or not they’re sexually active."

"Everything is just ... happening. That is the most that can be said. You can construct all kinds of words and thoughts and ideas—shapes in the mind—and associate them with the shapes you see—the glass of water, your friends here, the grass outside—but that doesn't mean you know what anything is. You have simply associated various shapes together. Patterns patterning. You can feel, even now, that those patterns are nothing, can you not?

Everything is nothing. And yet it all exists. What a miracle! How can you live in such a place without going insane, unless you love? Hmmm? Your closest friends are shapes, coming and going, meaning nothing before this birth or after death, yet occupying your life with patterns of bodies and filling your heart with patterns of feeling.

Your heart would be crushed in suffering if you could actually feel all the beings in pain, the cats and dogs, men at war, women at home, lonely and unloved, all the children starving, dying, the disease—but here we are, enjoying ourselves, because we are able to limit our attention to the shapes in our little room, and act like we know what this is, what everything is.

You are either seizing up in fear—binding yourself to what appears, friends, lovers, children, homes, work, your body, your thoughts, building up a sense of self, a whole inner world of comfort and ideas and hopes for the future and so forth—or you are surrendering it all, loving completely and letting go completely. Love without limits, my friend. Trust love to live you and all things. As much as it hurts your heart to feel everything and everyone, as terrifying as it is to surrender absolutely, your only real option is to love without boundaries, wide open. Love is the only way to live. Feel everything. Feel without limitation.

Do you know how many people have died? And every one of them was trying to survive, to feel good, to avoid too much pain, if possible. Some made grand gestures, and vestiges of their lives surround us as art, religion, science, whatever. Most made smaller gestures: a few kids, a comfortable living room, friends they could talk with as the patterns of their lives came and went.

And then there are the rare ones, like my teacher, who appear in the pattern to remind the pattern itself of its source and true nature. I have been reminded, and you have been reminded, and until the whole pattern realizes that it is only love—only love—war continues here, pattern against pattern, each trying to carve out a little place of comfort, brushing up against other patterns trying to persist as they are, fighting against all that threatens them, forgetting love even as they fight with their lovers, their children, their own impulses—fighting with the very patterns they hope will save them.

Alcohol can be useful if you know how to use it. It can help you see the patterns for what they are by softening the torrent of your jabbering mind-current. But most people just get dull when they drink. They don't know how to breathe life through their body, so, instead, the spirit-force backs up—rather than sinking down, opening their heart, and filling their belly with love's force, it rises up their front and makes them puke. Most people don't know who they are when their mind stops, so they feel confused, lost, or they just blank out when no thought moves, when their thinking mind is obliterated. They can't stand the gap. But if you can relax as love, if you are comfortable with no-thought, if you can simply be consciousness without needing a self-sense to cling to, then drugs and alcohol can help sweep away the usual and incessant patterns of body and mind so you can recognize love now—your mind, every body, this entire universe, is only love, appearing as patterns, and it all comes and goes, and surrender is the only way to live that isn't terror, you know?"
