i believe one quote was about how human skin is just a mask that cover our inner side, we could be evil inside but outside we might look innocent. very very true about life, and how we ppl see other ppl.

OMG u just reminded me of a great quote from MACBETH!

um....forgot the exact words...but it means that:

Life is a shadow, it follows you to your death. Your an actor in a movie. Just playing a role when your alive. When you die, the role pass on to another person. Even though your part might be glorious and important...you will still get replaced by someone else....

the long quote's meaning is something like that...which i believe is BRILIANT!!!

Is the q
uote you're thinking of:

"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages."

Where he goes on to describe that the seven ages are basically just a cycle from childhood to maturity to living like a child in old age. If it is, it's actually from "As you like it" not Macbeth.

"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages."

the quote i was talking about is from Macbeth, it's not like this quote where you can tell what it is exactly what it is talking about. I remember that Macbeth was having this soliloquy. It was when he realized that he was gonna die.

But i think this quote should be put into Macbeth!! :D

"Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,

Is it this one?

This is from Macbeth but in so many plays he liked refering to plays. On example that comes to mind is Prospero's speech to the audience at the end of The Tempest.

okay here's a quote from this book that has the most profanity ever in any of the book i ever read. I think this is probably one of the books where profanity is used very very well. Really recommend everyone to read this book. Not because of its profanity, but because of how it reflects life.

Salieri: [uncertainly] You flatter me.
Mozart: No, no! One hears such sounds, and what can one say but . . . "Salieri."

Father Vogler: Oh, that's charming! I'm sorry; I didn't know you wrote that.

I get them from here (http://www.quotationspage.com/).

There's another one I read at my old high school library, can't quite remember it exactly, but it went something like this: if you want to be remembered, write something worth reading, or do something worth writing about.

Life is funny. You start out with limitless potential, but time is always shaving away the possibilities. Every choice you make is a choice not to do a thousand other things. What's important, when all is said and done, is that you made a difference. Your choises, and everything undone, have to mean something. Otherwise, what was the point? I'm lucky that way. My path was already there. I had only to walk it.
I often thought if no one knew of the good i had done with my life, it didn't matter. That it was done is all htat counts in the end.
But then i died......

And I hadn't gotten to do any of it yet.

Existentialism states that:
1) Everyone is considered "Nothing" in the universe. Until what one becomes at a given moment.
2) You are alone in the universe
3) You have the choice of making your own decision at a given moment
4) Your decision will change yours or others' life in the future
