a is incorrect because the potassium nitrate is dissolved in solution and NiS ain&#39;t a gas as far as I know
b is correct because all those components have an oxidation state of +2 or -2
c is also correct, for the same reason
d not sure
e NiS would be the precipitate I think... though that ain&#39;t a typical salt-producing reaction :/

@ Ruby Moon: For the net ionic equation, dismantle all the of the products and reactants into their ions (e.g. Na2SO4 = 2Na- + s04-), and if any of thes ions does not experience a change in charge after the reaction, then they are the spectator ions and can be removed to give the net ionic equation.

As for your second question, I would choose (B). CaCO3 is a ppt (ah, A-level notes ~), and heats to give CaO and CO2. However, it is not feasible to reverse this reaction, even if the product would be a ppt.

Hehe, I forgot what time it started so I turned up an hour early XD Think I did okay overall, though we had to do FREE SPARRING for a 8th kup grading :crybaby: I was so not expecting it, and it went on for EVER even though it was only a few minutes - I was so braindead afterwards and then they made us do patterns... first one I did okay, then they made us do the second one three times, and I forgot the final punch the last time we did it >.< Oh well, I think I did pass, have to see when the results come out on the 13th ~
