ok i made a new avvy with frikking paint. it wasnt a walk in the park, since i didnt have actual pics of soujiro in the candle light.

RD: (Retro Gamer one) I think the fonts fits very well with the overall theme. You might want to put in some effect (and effort) on it though. Also, I was imagining more of a tech look with the pictures, because, you know, games, controllers! And the colours are way too messy and too much. You're now an L-factor creator, striving to work for Square, c'mon! Put in more effort and time! The planning stages of a sig is usually more important than the making of it. And the total time should take about 3-6 (or even more for x32fzw's kind of work) hours for a kick-ass sig.

Well, its my first decrotive brush siggy. I though the randomness of it fit well, and all the colors too ( retro = weed = :stoned: ). I was actualy going for a fruity look, somthing you would get if you poured a whole package of Skittles on the table. And I didnt think a tech look fit with paper Mario or the controllers because it looks more like somthing you pick off a tree in the tropics...

But thanks for the input anyways. Ill work on it!

Im having problems with the brushes. I pick out the butterfly one, I click, but then I get a diffrent color and it goes to a random spot on te canvas. I do it agian, and its compleatly random. Thats also why my sig may look messy and random, because the damn brush has a mind of its own! Help!

I've been wanting to do one for a while. I'm an oldschool sprite-comic-er from when it started getting popular (About 2001-2. Somewhere around there :heh: )

Anyways, I'll do more sets for people. I love spriting, and editing sprites etc.

Siggy 10/10 Its really nice, simple and clean (KINGDOM HEARTS!) but the edge of the girl bothers me. Because of the shrinking or cropping, her outline is a bit choppy

Ava 9.5/10 Its really nice and vibrant, but for some reason it doesnt look square. Also it sorta fadded (are you using bad quality Jpg?).

Siggy 10/10 nothing to complain about, its perfect. I would recomend putting somthing subtle as the background though, somthing more complacated yet fadded.

1st sig: 7/10 - It's quite ugly, the colours don't match and there isn't much about the text.
2nd, 3rd sig: 9.8/10 - I have no idea what Darwinia is, but those sigs are pretty cool-looking. The pixel font suits the tech theme too. But then again, I don't know how much of it is your work and whether or not you just cropped the image. And I'd like to see the text blended more into the sig.

@Stel: I did so little work on these, and just got the images from the official site. However, I agree with you on the Death Squad one. If you have played the game, the horrible looking pixel trails make sense. If not, they are pretty ugly

Stel, can you teach me how you did that snowy effect in image ready? Please PM me the answer, since I want to make a layout that features animated snow and your previous sig has definately the best snow effect I have seen so far.

Okay, assuming that you have good knowledge of Photoshop and Image Ready, here's what to do:

1) Open the image you want snow for.
2) Create a new document with the exact same width and height. Fill it with black (so that you can see your snow), Create a new layer and using the brush tool, create your snow.
3) Create another new document, this time with the same width but twice the height. Again, fill it with black so that you can see your snow. Copy the snow from the previous document over twice. You should have two snow layers on this document now. Move one to the top and the other to the bottom. Merge these two snow layers but not with the black background.
4) Copy the snow layer to the picture you want snow for.
5) Go to "Edit in Image Ready"
6) Open up your animation tool bar. On your first frame, move the snow layer such that the bottom half is seen. Set the time delay to 0.1 seconds.
7) Duplicate frame. On your second frame, move the snow layer such that the top half is seen.
8) Tween the two frames. Here are the settings:
Frames to add: (Up to you, the more frames, the slower the snow. My previous sig was 35)
Have "All Layers", "Position", "Opacity" and "Effects" checked.
9) Delete the last frame.
10) Save Optimised as.

I'm stuck on the step where you find the "Edit in Image ready". I cant find it in the submenus and menu. Can you tell me where it is?

Here's one.. that I just tried to do.. I sort of split the picture .. and just used certin things.. like the girl.. and the moon.. I don't have an avatar for it.. 'cause I've just been trying signatures..

I can't seem to get that line down the middle blurred.. but maybe that's because I've already saved it as a finished touch?.. and.. is it to dark??

Well, my first thing to point out is that the text is way, WAY to bland. Try and spice it up with a fancy font, and maybe add an outline with a dark grey shade that gradents to the "worlds" Icecap color to better define the text. Also the line is apparent, but only if you look hard. What I would do is erase the portion (the little arm that extends below the mass cluster of blue in the center) of the sig, and round out the edge. It is a little too dark, but that can be a quick fix with some Levels and Gamma corrections. So that you don't think I'm completely bastarding the sig, I really like what you did when you added the tree to the picture; it complicated the right side ever-so-slightly. Just a little tweaking and the Sig would bump up another 1-2 points

-Sig: 5/10...In sigs, when done right, 3-D borders look great. Maybe try making the border it a bit rounder and less generic if you decide to use it. I like the moon though. Very mysterious. :)

I have a good explination for the blurs. I used a radial blur at a 3 pixle blur, vivid light and put that over the original, untouched image because the original picture didnt have a setting sun glow to it. So yea. Ive been using it a lot of my things now. But usualy with out the vivid light.

I did have some trouble with finding a catchy avatar to go with the sig. I did find one image that sort of went along with the sig, so I made an avatar out of it. My original avatar was this (http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/1884/rksnowbloavatar9ye.jpg), but I had to crop out some parts to make it a square.
Yeah...it's way too dark, now that you mention it.

Ava 8.5/10 Its a bit harsh on the colors, a bit bright. But I like how the character is simplified, just to the face and hair. Seems like everyone is starting to do that too.. Also, I dont like the border to much.

Sig 9/10 Let me defile your blood... XD XD Your sig is great, love the colors (still a bit harsh though) and I love the editing done to the character. The border is really good to, matches the feel of the sig. I just dont think that font works though...

i like the background, though the colors on teh right are a bit too yellow to have that sun setting look or feel, compared to the orangy on the left.
for the render, i'd have duplicated the render layer, applied a gaussian blur of 4.5-5 on hte duplicated layer, and then fade gaussian blur while tweaking teh fade blending options.

Hmm, should try that.

But for my technique I made a dubble layer with the same image, radial blur (35 degrees, 35 pixles) the top layer, then vivid light light it at a 50-50 opacity and fill.

Now I dont think I will take the time on explaining the technique I used on highlighting the hair and cheekbone and doing the sun glares..

EDIT: And about the clouds, I just noticed it. Im fixing the problem as I type!
