I heart this one! The color and everything works well. My only gripe is that the snow is "chunky" and doesnt flow all so well. But snow is impossable to make with just PS and IR.

The snow was all filtering.

@septermagick: Got to love Old English font. On the first look, I though the first word in your sig was Lobe instead of Love. The text on the right side could have been resized just a little so that it wouldn't run into the tree or miroku's lower neck. The backdrop is pretty nice, and the subjects are emphaisied justly.
It's hard to read the text in your avatar, and it seems a bit cheap. I think a better boarder for the avatar would help it's presentation.

Well, I gave up on the revised Air TV signature (I cannot figure out how to make a moving sky background that is under 3 mb; well above the limit for signatures here) and decided to make a more simplistic one--and I mean simple; as in 30 mins worth of work simple.

Before anyone asks what that little squiggle on the side is, it's my watermark for my sigs (good luck trying to copy it exactly. I spent 4 days creating just the mark!).

As for my avatar... It with NEVER change! Auron is far too cool to be removed!

Shadow is indeed the ultamate lifeform that can handle the negative energies of the Chaos Emeralds and hold many different kinds of automatic weaponry.

On to my harsh critiquing:

First thing that I noticed was the wonderful sploches on Shadow's face. I'm not certain if that was intended, but it defentatly causes me to think that the Raw was done too quickly (anybody else notice the dotted white line starting at shadow's right ear and ending on his left cowlick :)?).

Colors are a nice contrast to Shadow's dark base--especally on the right-hand side--but it is a little too bright on the left-hand side. Like with Septermagick, the text is a little hard to read; not because of the text itself (I really like the font), but because of the backdrop.

It's clear some work has been put into this sig's backdrop (or I'm just a photoshop n00b, you pick...), but I think if a little more time was put into extracting and re rendering the subject it would give it an extra plus.

Taking your critique on board im fixing up the sig and regarding the splotches, they were meant to be there because if they arent the picture looks kind of wrong. Or it might just be me.

And I used to like shadow so much until they gave him guns ( curse you sonic team) So i never use a render of shadow with a gun.

EDIT: I've changed my sig to another thing, I dont like this one particularly because i couldnt find a good font, and the text is in the wrong place but i cant be bothered fixing it again. (no im not lazy, i just havent got any other ideas) But it still gives off a feeling to me that its big, particularly because of the size difference (nice technique i discovered) but what do you guys ( or girls) think?

@yousee: The splotches return! I like this one better than your shadow sig. The lower right hand corner seems to annoy me a little but it still works. Because you wanted to make a ghost effect, I would completely take out the orange-yellow color from the right mecha. The reason being is that all the other bots are of the blue shade and the yellow seems to clash with the main focus.

@Eternal: I've always liked how cool and pure your signatures look. It's not techical, it's not abstract, but a very pure and clean feel. The fonts you chose fit the theme nicely. I also like the small reflection you placed inside the window, but the transparency seems a bit too much (unless you were going for a watermark, which then it is perfect). The only complaint that I really have is that the render seems to be of a low resolution. I would blur her hair a little bit to tweak the presentation just a little more.

Actually, I don't like how pickachu is translucent at all. I'd make pikachu solid (like 90%) and de-colorize it so that its color was still there, but it is a grey-yellow. It's hard to explain.

@hordes12: Urg... What Ashtr said: too messy. While I think the background is just fine, the render is shit. The splotches of blue are annoying, and the font sucks. Reminds me of my first time using MS paint to create a sig.

@Ashtr: I like this one better than the last. The gold seems to flow nicely with the picture, though I do see some white lines that just doesn't mix too well wit the yellow (see the neck to the nose of the white haired girl, and the front bangs of the other girl). The abstract used as the background looks pretty awsome, though the color balance is off from right to left. I don't like the translucent grey in your 3 pixel boarder, but that's just a preference thing (I've never liked a border that is too apparent).

The extraction of the render looks awsome, but it seems like you used a lower quality image in it (see the back of her neck and skin; mmm Pixels!). The text bores me and the background seems too basic. Definatly better than your last one though! Keep at it!

@Toki: Impressive gothic style, though the color the swirls by the black wing make it a little hard to focus. I would say add a glow affect to it, but then the signature would not look right. I like the font, though the black in "Upholder" seems a little too dark. Just a couple of coloring issues, but the sig overall is quite nice.

Well i finally got a new banner. I made it on GIMP and it took a lot of time, effort, and frustration to get it right cuz i didnt have a clue how to work it. I must thank those who helped me in my GIMP help thread. Thanx! -.^

The background and text work well together, but the two other pictures are just a little... well, they don't fill the space as evenly or fully as they could. also that little bit of white on the right hand side is a little annoying. But I only just noticed it while writing :P 6-7ish/10

Well... It's been a while, so I guess I should start up the critiques again...

@Crim: Like the texture (or background pic; what ever it may be) and the ghosted dragon picture, but the clashing swords between two peticular FFVII characters doesn't really fit the mood of the sig. It's like a bleached spot on a black shirt. It just doesn't work. The black space in the lower lefthand and the white space in the upper right hand sides clash, and don't fit the background texture. The font choice was right, but the text is unreadible on the right hand side, either darken the font (which I wouldn't do because the background is dark) or darken the dragon (perhaps use a negative of the image). Another plus would be to round the corners of your two subject renders, it makes things flow nicer and makes the picture look less geometric.

@M_E: Obviously it's from Charlie and Lola. What amazes me the most is how refreshing the actual sig looks. It isn't complex, it's not smooth, rather, it's a true analog work (or so I think). I would complain about the image itself, but that's the source, rather than the actual sig.

I like it, but It looks like the focused render was a screen shot of Mrs Riku (then again, that could be the JPEG compression). Maybe blur the T-Shirt ever so slightly. The furthest cowlick is a little too blurred, but if you corrected that, you would not be able to focus on the face in the backdrop. What I would do, is make Riku and the Teddybear picture little smaller, and drag it plum to the lower-right corner, and drag the face over straight to the right. Second, is the texture in the backdrop. It looks like a very translucent cloud render was used, but it is a little too plain. Maybe add a "canvas" layer on top of it. Though that option makes it look more generic (seeing how just about everyone does it), I think it would make it look better. The text font is right. Also, because this sig has a lot of plain space, it would be a good idea to add a very light boarder to it.

I'm pretty sure this is a crop from an orginal art (thus, you won't see very many comments). The two renders match too well for it not to be. The boarder color was a good choice, and the picture looks clean. The only think that I think would make it better would be to add a white transparency to make the image fade a bit. While I do like the hard colors, I think that softening it will give it an extra push.

Nice. It gives off the sense of evil with the softened brush outline (or did you use the glowing edges effect on it?) with the dark and murky green backdrop, but it makes it a little hard to focus on the face. Also, I find that where his collar bones meet seems to be a little bright. Quickly fixed with an overlay brush stroke. The second render fits in the backdrop very well, and I wouldn't change a thing about it. Text: defined; it illustrates his charater very well.

All in all, I like it, but the effect you used on him was a little too much in the facial region.

1) Sig's too big (1 pix in height) Sig was removed

2) Look for simple wallpapers that the character could be extracted from.

3) Go to an Imageboard. Their entire purpose is to provide Images to other users. BEWARE, these sites usually have questionable content such a HCG, doujinshis and real pornography.

4) Look for CG / HCG (beware, the H stands for Hentai) packs. Usually those are very high quality.

5) Look for Independent Artists' work. I've found some pretty sweet stuff that wasn't sponsered by anyone.

6) Finally, Artbooks. Buy them, or extract pictures from their online counterparts. The images are usually scanned by other people and are huge (like 36xx by 24xx).

Hey guys, new sig, its not so abstract as my previous one. Sorry for the fuzzy Tv picture look, it didn't look like this when I finished making it on GIMP. Must've been a flaw during the image uploading.This one took a lot of migranes heheheh to get the right backround. Then I had to freakin fill in the dots for the cut-out-picture look in the pics of rukia pic. I thought the red glow to Kurosaki Ichigo was pretty good. Hope you like it. And oh, As you saw I put the "All Rights Reserved" thingy on bottom. I recommend you people do that kind of stuff in your sigs so we don't have the issue again with people stealing other peoples sigs. Thank you!!

Ava - Its really simple and begginer like. It looks lie you just took a background from some where, took a treble clef sign and used that to cut out a picture from some jean denim texture and slapped it together. 3/10

Sig - Some here but the background is really nice. If you went into a diffrent direction with your layout and used that kind of background colouring to edit a picture or somthing you could have gotten a better signature.

Everything is nice but the text for the reason hiei said and that you put "Made By...". Nothing wrong with that but its a bit long, should have just put your name. 5/10

so um Hordes 8/10 theres a little too much space between text and actual picture the color is very nice but its a plain color so it makes the space look even bigger~

Hey guys, new sig, its not so abstract as my previous one. Sorry for the fuzzy Tv picture look, it didn't look like this when I finished making it on GIMP. Must've been a flaw during the image uploading.This one took a lot of migranes heheheh to get the right backround. Then I had to freakin fill in the dots for the cut-out-picture look in the pics of rukia pic. I thought the red glow to Kurosaki Ichigo was pretty good. Hope you like it. And oh, As you saw I put the "All Rights Reserved" thingy on bottom. I recommend you people do that kind of stuff in your sigs so we don't have the issue again with people stealing other peoples sigs. Thank you!!

Sig- I like the grunge background (I like grunge :3)! The text doesnt really fit it to much but it still works. I love what you did to the render though. The shading is brought out and the lights stand out. 9/10

Ava- basicaly the same but I like the background more because it isnt as busy and I like the look of the render without the hat. 10/10

The hat was black so the text would match it XD
I usually used text colors that are the same as the Character's eyes or hair when it came to anime but red looked creepy and the back ground was already cream colored~

notes on my set: Dio and Luciola are both guys. Luciola is Dio's servanty dude and friend person. The image is of when they were kids and i moved the wings around their name from the the title. See, the title was super stretched long but i liked thie wing things so that's why they are stuck were they are XD

The ava is like that because I wanted to draw attention to the ahir combing, it's just such a sweet little thing. Their friendship was such a hard thing for them and man oh man....ah, won't spoil it too much but there was this episode that brought it out and moved me so much... otherwise it was an excuse to make a wanky arty ava XD

I like the set, with the whole complicated relationship of those two, but it seems a bit bare. Seeing Dio as a kid always creeped me out though, especially in that particular artwork. Come to think of it, Dio always creeped me out...but in a good way. :unsure:

The ava is simple. Nothing wrong. But you could do a bit more. 6/10. The signature I think is a bit dark. Its also simple. You should experiment with manipulating a bit more like making ir glow and burn the colours and making it shine so much you cant stand it like "OMG is that the sun!?". 6/10

lol my friend was sending me all these J-rock pics and music this morning and I jsut picked one from the bag.

You can lighten the picture by adding a white layer over everything and setting the layer option to soft light and messing with the opicity after that. Thats if you have PS.

Well actually your sig doesn't look half bad, try to blod the white words or layer it on top of a darker color.
Also measure the borders a little more acurately so it doesn't cut off any words like "believe"

as for the avatar, its a little foggy instead of going for the full pic cut only the specific part that you want to draw attention to
ex: the girl in the dude's arms
cos a avvie is a small thing and a full body is too much to put on it~

Well, there are some area's that arnt as sharp as they could be, like the right hand is very pixly. You can get the same effect by turning on the AA (or using a brush) but turning down the flow. That way it will look pixly but still bleed/blend a little bit.

This my first sig so try not to laugh to hard

It's a very very good first attempt!
I'm not sure wheather you were going for the tear stain look for your text or you just decided to blurr it for no reasons~

If your going for the tear stain look blurr the center in circular motion then use a smaller blurr brush and take the sides out a litte go up and down first until the perportions are correct.

Also the wor "Organiation XIII" is kinda out of the blue there, you should try to use the work curves and put it around that circle symbol~

Lastly add a border and you're set! ^^

Eternal - I love your set. It's just girly enough to be cute, but dark enough to be cool. I don't really have much to say about it besides that. I thik the text could be moved over to the right just a smidge, though. It gets a little close to the curtain trimming and the lighted window to me. I give it a 9.8/10
