Soccer's alright, I guess. Too much running around and passing for me. The fields are huge. I like it more than basketball and hockey, but less than football and baseball.
For playing, I mean. I don't really enjoy watching any of them...there are more dramatic things to watch out there than dudes running around kicking a ball, and I'll never understand why people give a shit who wins. It's not "your team." You just live in the same general area their main stadium is located. They don't give a shit about you. It's okay if they lose!

Damn, this just reminds me how bad I've gotten. 3-4 years ago, in a school fieldtrip to Science World, I participated in a reflex test(read: competition) where I set the record for the day at .192 ms. basically i worked in the o2 in london in 1 of the best places to go to, mainly because it's a cocktail bar so the drinks there are better and different from all the other places, not to mention it's 1 of the best places to watch the world cup from. ive only been there for 1 month and since then a total of 9 staff members including myself and 1 manager has quit because of this guy. i made alot of good friends in there, now me and 1 of the girls quit but was going there to watch the england game tomorrow. so we were trying to think whether to go elsewhere for a drink or to stick 2 fingers to the guy and go there to enjoy the football whilst he knows that we were supposed to be working that day. now in this week alone 4 members has left, although he tried to increase and spread all the remaining hours onto everyone else ( peoples hours were reaching between 42 and 60 hours per week) since 3 of us have left all meant to do 12 hours shifts for tomorrow he is now seriously understaffed and unable to run a smooth and proper service. now due to the sheer abuse that each one of us encountered.

Never cared much for Fable (and Peter Moneleuxaoxoo is the most pretentious d-bag in gaming), but 360 is superior to the ps3, imo. And I've had a few since launch, and I've never had any problems with any of them. RRoD is a silly reason not to buy one, in my opinion. I'd say the game libraries are about the same, but the 360's online and overall ease-of-use crush the ps3's. PSN is a nightmare, almost as bad as the wii's online.

My first ps3, however, broke on me. Stupid shitty disc drive.

I've never tried the PS3 or Wii, but the 360s network setup was far too difficult for my tastes (or should I say clunky). It refused to lease an IP on first boot, was unable to refresh that IP after obtaining it, required a "test" to do any form of network activity, and the IP needed to be static.

I got it last January for my capstone project, and it caused me nothing but grief.

I've only had one problem with my Xbox. I had it sitting vertical, and somehow it scratched three perfect circles (the center of the disc being the center of all the circles) into my CoD4 disc. Pissed me offf. I couldn't play a couple maps online, and 60% of the campaign was unplayable. I went down to Hollywood Videos or something and had the first couple layers taken off with one of those disc cleaning refurbishing machines or whatever. It kind of helped, but not really. Although the scratches still remained, I could play all the online maps again, and a couple more campaign levels. I read though that it only happens when the xbox is vertical, so I set it on its side now and I haven't had any problem. Plus, if I know I'm gonna play the game a lot (MW2), I now copy the game onto my hard drive. Fweeeee.

:yawn: And your point being? It's a networking device. If the router adheres to the IEEE 802.3 standard, it should work with any Ethernet communication device. Last time I checked, kamikaze uses the linux DHCPD system, which is IEEE 802.3 compatible and offers a leasing scheme that also adheres to the internet's standards. That is, it appears as any other router that exists. But hell, who am I to comment about these things. After all, I did solve the problem. It just required me to set a static IP, manually start a lease, disconnect from MS Live on the Xbox boot, and then test the internet connection using the integrated tool just to connect to Xbox live. Basically, I had to manually do DHCP's job.

I blame it on MSDNAA's XNA Premium license.





Regardless of all of this, I'll admit I have a unique setup that most prolly wouldn't even begin to do. It was just frustrating how that didn't work as smoothly as the videos make it out to be (about 8 hours I'll never get back in my life).

I used to be hardcore into FPS shooters on PC. Now though, I prefer playing with a controller/console. It was awkward at first, but I got used to it quick. What I hate about PC games is that it seems my PC is never good enough. When I do upgrade it to top notch stuff, new games are being made that require even more upgrades. It just seems never ending and a money pit.

Contrary to Kou, console online gaming can work quite well. I'm actually suprised that playing smash bros brawl on the wii's wireless connection didn't have any lag.

And the trick is resolution whiplash. Put the res of your game down to a normal tv console game and wala, everything suddenly runs at a smooth 60fps. While it can be a bit of a pain and require some thinking I'd much rather pc........and if I want a console experience; I want something different (hence why I got a wii years ago) or I'll just buy a 360 controller and connect my pc to my tv. Simple :lol:

No. The Tenshi arc that's scattered in the middle of the other character's plots. Yui was nothing but a filler that was thought about, unlike 90% of the other filler characters that were not even considered (like T.K and Christ)

If you keep on watching to the second episode and so on, Ritsu voice sounds wrong and Mugi/Mio sound really mature for some reason. But it actually depends since some of us gets use to dub voices while others watch subbed instead.

Try watching slayers for a fantasy anime. Nothing too complex, likable character and just good uncomplicated fun.

How can you make an English dub of an anime that's about music, and not re-dub the songs?

Oh, and sub = dub. The voices/dialouges are just as cheesy in Japanese. :bleh:

I've noticed that sometimes. I think my personal preference for sub is so I don't catch how cheesy the dialog is. For that matter, I prefer any other language dub over English. :)

Try watching slayers for a fantasy anime. Nothing too complex, likable character and just good uncomplicated fun.

I agree with Gotank as well, I'd rather a dub in another language other than English. Truth be told I think English is a rather overrated language :\

Eh, there are animes where dubbing is better than subbing, particularly the ones where the characters are supposed to speak English but they speak Japanese :P

Cowboy Bebop I agree with, FMP not so much. FMP was passable, but it felt flat compared to the Japanese to me.

Peh, Porsche has this thing where he says you can't tell how bad Japanese dubs actually are unless you speak Japanese (which is ridiculous - I don't need to be Japanese to use my ears). But then he goes on to say the Japanese dubs are as bad as the English ones, even though he doesn't speak Japanese. He's just saying things! Talkin out his nose! Be as cocky as you want! We all know things are almost always better in their original language! It's common sense!

Yes, but since we don't really know Japanese and are not very familiar with it, we simply don't notice.

That's probably why English dubs often sound so wrong. It never sounds natural. It all sounds like it's read from a piece of paper. This is because you know what conversation normally sounds like in English.

It has little to do with the language, just that a language you're used to will sound unnatural when watching something that's poorly dubbed (which is pretty much everything).

The other side is that whereas most English voice actors are dubbing a cartoon for kids, Japanese voice actors are seasoned professionals who play a major role in the creation of a work of art.
