Edit: Actually, I can understand where you're coming from a bit. Every once in awhile when I'm walking around, I'll look at sunlight reflecting off a window, or the shadows cast at dusk and think "lol, that looks so fake!" I already bought the Sternreiter, though. Looking around at the reviews and such, it looked like it was the only sturdy windup clock left on the market - all the other brands seem to break within six months, a lot of them in the first month. They're all made with plastic gears and hammer holders, except the mighty Sternreiter, which is all brass and steel. It's more than twice as heavy as any of the other clocks I've seen, so hopefully it's as well built as everyone says it is. Actually, it'd better be, since it costs like twice as much as all the other clocks, hahah. X3

Anyone here know about electronics? Trying to adapt a television speaker to a 3.5 audio jack. Basically the only reason for this is my school year level is cheap and doesn't want to buy a sound system for our room.....and its fun for me. :) Can anyone provide any assistance, sorry if the details are vague, all I know is the the speaker has a resistance of 8 ohms and an outage of 8 volts.

You will need some kind of amplifier as a standard 3.5 jack does not have the power to drive a speaker by itself

Hmm, didn't consider that, the last lot of speakers I made worked fine through the jack alone. Any idea how to attach one? I don't want to do hit and miss techniques with a power source. I don't have that much knowledge of electronics other than that which is self taught through experimentation.

Just tried making fried rice, but it failed miserably. Super hard/burnt. XD
So a couple questions for Ichigos, Asia Branch: my rice was like four days old in the fridge when I started, so it was already pretty freaking hard (definitely way too hard to eat.) Should I have hydrated the rice first a bit before cooking? I just threw it in the pan, and now that I think about it, I don't see how frying hard rice could make it much softer. Secondly, how long should I fry the rice? And lastly, I think I may have used too much vegetable oil in the frying. Would that make it burn faster? I could smell the oil for a few minutes while cooking it at first, so I don't think that's a good sign. It was pretty much soaked in it I think. = \
Is there any way to tell when the rice is done, or do I just have to keep on tasting it? It looked and smelled fine in the pan, but when I took it out, it was inedible-y hard/burnt.

Nope, sure isn't. Which is why whenever I eat *white rice,* I make it on the spot. But like M said, you can't make fried rice with fresh rice, unless you want it to taste like shit. Most people tell me to leave it in the fridge for around two days, five days tops. You have to understand that frying rice in scalding hot oil tends to kill whatever germs were living on it. =P

I swam laps during the summer and planned on continuing it but that didn't happen. Lazyness I guess. During the summer I swam at an outside pool that was less than 5 minutes from my house and the indoor pool is all the way downtown with rather inconvenient lap times.

Anyway, I had never swam laps before and didn't know the "proper" technique for freestyle, so here's some tips, (and I'm just assuming you're in the same boat, makes it easier for me to give advice).

Swimming is fucking hard. So don't be discouraged if you utterly fail at your swimming plan. I definitely did.
Buy some nice goggles. Here in the U.S. you can get a nice pair for under 20$ that won't fog up or leak.
Technique-wise: It is critical for you to develop good technique if you wish to become efficient at swimming. Use the internet, ask experienced swimmers at the pool for tips, they'll be more than happy to point out your flaws (I got a hottie life-guard to help me out :D).
Be prepared to feel fuckin awesome after your swim, 'cause you will.

Nope, there's a backup battery on my power/phase thing (the house is divided up into 3 separate power systems), so I can continue using my computer. The old owner installed all this fancy electrical stuff, its just that with all the wind been so strong and the idiots from the next town over and their stupid driving, the power lines keep getting knocked down. Makes you think, why the hell isn't it underground yet?

For senior year of highschool, we had some "make friends with everyone before you graduate" team building fieldtrip thing where we did a bunch of random crap. Ami was closer to Tsundere than Taiga, even though Ami was portrayed as somewhat of a hybrid of Yandere and Tsundere. The actual persona that Taiga was portrayed as is the typical over-reacting childhood friend.

I have not watched Highschool of the Dead. Not a fan of zombies in general, the art style, or the really cheesey thriller type feel the premise seemed to suggest. Though I heard it was quite popular for a while.

I dislike Kirino because she's simply a selfish person. Usually a large part of the entertainment in this kind of series and series generally involving tsundere leads hinges on the protagonist abuse; though this isn't always the case in Oreimo. Either way, I think it's getting a bit old.

Of course, I'm sure some can look past this and still manage to enjoy the otherwise fairly well executed series.

I haven't heard of anyone using VSTs with Finale Notepad. Actually, Notepad is so limited that it doesn't even have a function to produce midis (at least when I last checked), so I highly doubt it could support VSTs.

Edit: Oh, okay. Looks like it might depend on the VST instrument, actually. Some have settings for their midi channel, while others don't. Maybe there's a setting somewhere in VSTHost to help out with the VSTs too stupid to include a midi channel parameter..
