The only problems I actually have with official releases of anime is that they make everything politically correct, remove the intricate Japanese ethnicity and themes, and even censor materials that appear outside the scope of what the company classifies as detrimental (Harmony Gold, DiC).

If they remain as they are now, then in my opinion yes: they're only hitting their own needs, focusing almost exclusively on marketing needs and have been ignoring the consumer for the longest of times. BUT! If changes like what I mentioned above actually occur (digital streaming, simulcasting, uncensored), then I will happily support releases provided by them.

To be honest I don't really like the zombie thing. They don't creep me out or anything, its just boring. Now some may say that mauling thousands to zombies to death in a game is fun, and it is; but after killing your 500th zombie, its gonna be no different from the next 500. Except the fact that your boredom level will vastly increase.

On the other hand, starting watching Ergo Proxy and I must say I love it. The artstyle, the story, the atmosphere and feel. Fantastic.

As much as I love Key, I could probably never read one of their visual novels because it would ruin my memories of the anime's by having the small differences.

I'm not watching HSoTD, but in my defense I read a fair bit of it and it seems like a boring cycle of zombies, guns, chicks, chicks with guns, boobs, high-panty-shotful-fighting/action-scenes....etc IMO.

Well, considering that the author who made Highschool of the Dead did some work on H material, it makes sense...I watch it mainly because I'm on of those "Zombie Apocalypse fanatic" types. I enjoy zombie movies a lot :3
My friend, a girl, plays CoD. She's actually the only one in my group of friends who can go toe-to-toe with me in a one-on-one match. Every game I've had with her was always a close match. Come to think of it, we're due for a rematch! >=)

If you decide not to watch it, you'll be missing out. Even if you go into it with the mindset "this show is going to be stupid," you'll still be able to enjoy it, because the humor is top notch. And if you watch it without deciding to hate it before you've even started it, you'll probably enjoy the touching story, too. Me, X, and Infinity all cried from it, hahah. And it crushed Chris' soul, which is probably also a sign of its high quality. XD
I'm not sure how much of the wiki entry you read, though. The show's kind of disorienting at first, which is one of the cool things about it. Hopefully the wiki entry didn't lay out all the plot points for you.

And HSOTD: looks promising, but the first episode pissed me off with the ridiculous amount of fanservice present. It was more than a little distracting for me. I read some of the manga (also full of fanservice), and the story is a decent zombie story, so hopefully they decide to turn down the fanservice a bit in the coming episodes. I think the show will stand just fine on its own, and it'll be much better off for it. (Still looking forward to the next episode!)

To be honest I don't really like the zombie thing. They don't creep me out or anything, its just boring. Now some may say that mauling thousands to zombies to death in a game is fun, and it is; but after killing your 500th zombie, its gonna be no different from the next 500. Except the fact that your boredom level will vastly increase.
