No, a few months actually. Sorry, I exaggerated a bit. With my lax style of study, I expect it'd probably take me about a year to get to 1kyu, since I'm sure it gets exponentially harder to rank up as you get closer to the top. I played fourteen games, iirc, and went through around ten hour-long tutorial things with my teacher, just discussing the games I'd played and such.

But if I was a "decent" go player then I'd be in the dans and would've been a Professional Go player, and then I wouldn't just be an ass, I'd be seriously telling you off for your attitude and how that doesn't belong.

Actually, most play American Mahjong (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_mahjong) rather than traditional, which is full of wildcards and extra tiles which makes the game far too easy to play and win. It's basically classic poker played with domino rather than cards.

As for what I play, I claim it as a bastardized version of Reach (Riichi), because I learned how to play it from the Internet when I was in High School and completely breezed through the rules and adopted new rules as the house players kept changing and whining about them. In college, I started to relearn it, but my old habits didn't die all that well. In fact, my old group's establishment was to learn how to play Reach properly.

Hahah, we very well may be! It's true there's no way to tell how the kyu rankings in different places compare to one another. You should come back and play on KGS a bit and see where you stand. Then I'll have a better idea of what a "real" Go player looks like, depending on how far away you end over/under 2kyu. So I got a visual novel but its in 4:3 aspect ratio. So whenever I enable full screen in the options menu of it, it stretches to fit my 16:10 monitor. Anyone know how I could enable full screen for it but have it not stretch (other words having the black bars on the side of the monitor to fill in the gaps)?

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium.

what program do you use? you'll ideally want a comic book reader or some other book friendly tool. IrfanView does it for me and even produces slideshows which can be nice for your porn image folders.

Its not a collection of pictures, its an actual visual novel "game", an executable.

Also so my image doesn't get tainted, I don't have any porn and its not an erotic novel, its just a "novel".

Yep. That's the only way to fix a 4:3 to 16:10 aspect problem. If the software doesn't support it natively (most VN platforms do not), you'll have to use the hardware platform.

Nope. I have an ATI graphics card so in the control panel for that, there's an option to keep the aspect ratio the same and not auto stretch it.

Must remind myself to get more visual novels..........

EDIT: Actually, it kind of is like "run in ..... mode", you only have to tick a box but this comes from the hardware and it doesn't change the premise on which it operates on.

Basically you just tell your graphics driver not to stretch stuff.

In a good way? I got bored halfway through the first episode and quit it. I thought it'd either be boring and generic (seemed to be the route it was heading down at the time), or it'd be great. Please tell me it's great because I'm out of stuff to watch and I had decent hopes for the show. :x

It does have a Gurren Lagann-like aspect to it, but there's a lot of corn on this cob. In this respect, I'd say it's closer to Asura Cryin'

And there's always like ten songs I wanna listen to during that time, so it's just a matter of time constraints. XD

I was just having a conversation about this earlier today, weird.
Some people are easily intimidated by minimalism is my opinion.

I've never liked iPods or any Apple electronics...the only reason I see myself buying a macbook is simply for a dedicated video multimedia editing notebook. Other than that, I don't like the iTouch, iPhones or any of it's incarnations. Don't know why, I just don't like it. Too general (as in everyone has it) I guess...

I got one of those flash drive sized ipod nano's last christmas. Personally, I don't like them either. The thing won't play high bit rate audio, the ear phones required are uncomfortable, overpriced and the sound quality is sub-par. Also itunes is one of the most annoying and non-user friendly programs I've used. I'm not an Apple hater; its just from personal experience Ipods seem to be over-hyped. I did also have a classic but I sold it. The equalization was bad and again having itunes being unable to convert high quality and high bit rate audio was annoying (not to mention that stupid playlist transfer thing).

Just a plain and simple unheard of brand Mp3 player served me better, and my pocket pc was cheaper than an ipod, yet I can do much more with it (not to mention you can just copy paste songs or use any audio program that can transfer files, and it can play whatever bit rate the processor can handle).

Creative was the best mp3 and earphones I've encountered.
But I use the original 2GB Ipod nano which has not been updated in about 3 years now, I just use it as my walking music, keeping more recent songs on the pc for home listening.

On a side note some gaming geek i've been talking to online just so happens to live right round the corner from me, so brb stalking grown men :eat: :plod:

I've gone through three clips so far, though. My Sennheiser HD's massive headphone jack is way too much for the sansa's petite little hole. Whenever I buy a Sansa, the headphone jack ends up getting too loose to work like six months into using it. = =

So, I was pretty pumped to hear that Xbox Live was hooking up with ESPN360 so that you can watch ESPN 360 games (which are basically the games that aren't being broadcasted in your area. For example, ABC will cover four different games that are all being played at the same time, so what game you watch is determined by which part of the country you're in, and how important the game is). You see, ESPN already lets you stream the games for free on espn360.com, but your ISP has to be affiliated with ESPN 360, and mine is not.

I get on my Xbox today, download the new ESPN app, only to be told "We're sorry, your ISP is not affiliates with ESPN360, you will only be able to view content from ESPN.com"
WHAT THE FUCK. Xbox Live now costs 60$ a year, AND I STILL DON'T GET TO WATCH MY FUCKIN SPORTS? I don't fucking understand it. Why does it matter who my ISP is if I'm connecting through my Xbox? I'M ALREADY PAYING $60 A YEAR FOR XBOX LIVE.

A common misconception about North Korea is that they're weak minded and suppressed. As it stands, they rank second in the world with having an at-ready army (number one being China). It's a bit similar to Germany's position in World War II; small nation, but incredible military power. North and South Korea treat each other as closer allies than with other foreign nations (Xenophobia's huge over there), and South Korea's one of the Four Tigers of the East. It's very much possible.

Hmm, So Ra No Wo To is quite good. Glad to find there's more underneath the moe-blob styled characters, good meaning and story to it. Not to mention a great soundtrack. The only thing that bothers me though is that every time I look at the characters, I see K-ON. :\

The whole moe-blob element of the characters annoys me though, it could be a great serious show if it tried.
