Friend for 1 1/2 years. became friends because her friend wanted me to cheer her up. She's a very sensitive overly nice type of person I guess you could say.
I'm supposed to be her friend in everything that matters. The type where you turn to them for everything. However... she won't acknowledge me in public at all. On the phone we talk everyday, but we have only talked 4 times in person. She is always sad about things and I do my best to cheer her up, but it's hard. She has a lot of guys that go after her but she is in "love" with this one guy that won't ever like her. I keep telling her to forget about it, but she just beats herself up over it. The other night he was dancing with her best friend at prom and instead of going to me, she went to some guy that just sticks around her in hopes of doing her and cries on his shoulder(she is very aware of his intentions). Of course he is just thinking over and over, about how he can use this. So, I confronted him, and I confronted her. More importantly her. She got mad at me that I wasn't there for her... I was there. I grabbed her hand as she walked past even... So I snapped and yelled for 10 mins straight because she just doesn't want to acknowledge me at all. After the 10 mins I continued to ignore her and complain to people and so she got mad at me over it. I always wanted to say those things to her because it's a real problem. She treats me like a little dog waiting to protect it's master and doesn't understand that I'm more than that. I want to help her and keep with her as her friend, but I won't if she won't concede those points. This isn't arrogance... I hope it isn't... I just want her to say that I exist.
