Hmm... I always thought that eyes sight had to do with genetics but then again my daddy has glasses that are 600 on both eyes.
Neither of his parents needed glasses, and he lost he's 20/20 at a young age due to a really high fever~

But if cars make you sick, ride Mopets!
They're a lot safer than motercycles and the breeze is wonderful~

I dunno if they're really safer than motorbikes... You still make a road-pancake if you get hit badly.

Open a window and get some fresh air!

Maple Story is indeed evil. I came off the n00b island too early and got massacred. Since then I just couldn't be bothered to make a new character 'cause I knew I'd have to waste too much time levelling it up. I hate games where you level up, it takes foreveeeer T_T

Thats pretty much why I gave up on Linux. No games, no fun. The only thing I could play on that thing was Unreal Tournament 2k4. Even then it wasn't very fun.




Couldn't even let me run RO or half life. Stupid wine.

Now half-life 1-2 does run, as does CSS, UT2004. Just no MMORPGs that use the Game Guard engine.

Not to mention the several Console emulation programs, MAME, and the likes.

And if I acutally subscribed to Cedega, I could pro'lly play it, if it was burned to a CDROM, BUT! I don't feel like paying a one time 5 USD payment for a free MMPORPG.

Just the usual programing steps (which is the scientific method applied to programing), and perhaps keeping a table of call commands and your varibles. I can't count how many times I forgot about all the different functions I put in a C++ header file, and had to open that file up just to assure what I thought the syntax was.

i forgot what was it, the pc hanged... the hardwares were uninstalled and after the pc detects the new hardware and wasting time installing it back, it'll restart and hardwares are not detected again. even in safe mode... so i reformated the hard disk, installed winME and Mie's notepad... i need link for microsoft office, i've no cd of that in here... that's what i need... oh anti-virus...

Oooh, M, you might be able to help me out - my friend's the president of our uni's anime soc next year, and she's got a Mac to play all the shows on. Only problem is VLC media player, which she was intending to use, overlaps the subs on mkv files. Things like Welcome to the NHK are virtually unwatchable because you can't read the subs. Is there any way around that for Mac?

On the mac, there really are only two mediaplayers I have heard of for anime.

One is VLC. The other is mplayer.

I swear these two want to wring each other's neck. They both can play just about anything, but mplayer comes out ahead due to it's conpadibility with MKV files (I think VLC uses MKV v0.1.3 which is OLD!!!1), the just recent addition of ASS support, and for being just damn good. So I would say go with mplayer.

But! there is an issue. I've never worked with a mac before (anything post Apple ][ to be exact). Soooo, installing it will be a lovely project. It took me five different configured installs for me to get mplayer and memcode to work just the way that I wanted it to on linux (let me say there is a lot of goodies hidden in the program that are disabled by default.) Furthermore, I have no clue how mac handles codecs via the player...

Regardless here's a link (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=62947) to the most recent CVS of MplayerOSX. All I can suggest is to read the documentation throughly.

There's no option to turn off overlapping subs or have it running them at the top and bottom of the screen. I don't own a mac so I can't test out mplayer but I will refer my friend to it. Does your mplayer overlap mkv softsubs?

Not at all. It even takes in subtitle formatting provided you have the font installed on your system.

Though I have to emphisise the command line player over the graphical one. I have audio cancelation when trying to switch audio streams from english to japanese. Though that's pro'lly a mistake I did when building the install from source...

Just wondering, is there a difference between Chrno Crusade and Chrono Crusade?

Chrno Crusade is what they call it in japan, I heard they called it "Chrno Crusade" instead of "Chrono" is so that it won't be confused with Chrono Trigger and the other game (I forgot :heh: )
...I saw a dubbed DVD of Chrno Crusade and I can say that "Chrono Crusade" is the english version

I know by fact that in the UK people pay 1 pound per litre. One gallon is 3.7 litre, so they pay 3.7 pound per gallon (US gallon). 1 pound = 1.9 dollar, so they pay 7 dollar per gallon.

Not like we can do anything about it. We petition for Car-pooling, and get nothing. We ask for GM and Ford to up the MPG marker on their cars and they state that the ratio is as high as it can go without going Hybrid (which is a lie).

Even then, Hybrids are not readily available.

Realisticly, it's out of our hands right now. I know Michigan society has built itself on car manufacturing, so independent travel has always occurred. If we were to switch it would inconvence the entire state, as I'm sure it would the rest of the nation.

It's the same problem with the SI and English Standard Measurement system. The US has been using the English system for so long, it would only cause problems if we switched over to Metric. My grandpa doesn't know the conversion ratio of Miles to Kilometers, let alone do it on the fly when driving his car.

Public transport in the UK is rubbish, especially trains. The buses are never in time and other than that there isn't much.

London has a nice subway that works, but that's about it really. I don't know where you got the "UK has one of the best public transport systems in the world" from, but it's utter rubbish.

It depends on which city, Swindon has a very good transportation service, which is why people hardly drive their cars downtown. And to further use my Forum Wanker status, my dad is in the air force and we are just stationed here, but he gets monthly gas coupons for the british gas stations. Americans have a god given right to cheap gas!

... No offence, but that's gotta be one of the funniest things I have read in a long time XD UK transport is very bad. The rest of Europe has better transport than us, and there's always reports on the news about the government trying to improve it, but nothing happens, and railway staff keep going on strike, buses that should come every 10 minutes come every 45 minutes, blah blah blah.

I see where you are getting at Angelic, and your right. Its not fair that you guys have to pay so much for gas and we complain about paying less. But doesnt everything cost a lot more in europe?
