Too bad a decent 24" isn't around 500 USD or else I'd buy it in a moment).

Computers are supposed to be in a dry climate, dust free, with ambient room temperature around 70 F. If a computer is in a basement or in areas that have high humidity, you need to purchase a dehumidifier.
