That's also cool. A bunch of pre-production work. Shows some of the cg and stuff they were using. Cg in 1983; and it fits perfectly with the style. That's pretty ridiculous, considering 90% of the cg used in anime today looks out of place and awkward. XD

@Hopeless: I'm pretty sure that was all hand drawn. You couldn't even get something to look close to that using CG back then. Not to mention, CG wasn't used too much until the the late, late 80s and the early 90s.

In the pre-production video for daicon IV, they show wireframe being used in what looks like a really early version of lightwave. It is also my opinion that during the nuclear explosion, while the camera is panning quickly to the right, that cg was being used. Of course, it's a little hard to tell with the blurry youtube video, so I could be wrong. XD

Also, they could have simply drawn over the cg wireframes, instead of using the actual renders in the final production. Studio ghibli and coincidentally, Gainax has been known to do this. :3

So yeah, even if they didn't use their renders for the final video, it was still damned clever of them to use wireframes to trace over back then. ^ ^

Oh, and if anyone has a link to a better quality video, let me know. The blurriness on the youtube one is annoying. ;__;
