The account "admin" is not unusual. Thats the default set account when one installs Invision Boards. Basically I think the "admin" account is the most powerful of the whole forums, unless you can change their powers and make it your own.

I believe Gand created Admin himself for safety purposes. If anything goes wrong with any of the admin accounts he still has that one.

It's like the superuser Root in linux. It's there, it's the most powerful, and if you don't need it you don't touch it.

First came Soul Taker, and Komugi's apperance as comic relief from the serious storyline. Her place in was well out of the mood of the anime and acted as a distractiong. She should have been completely omitted, but for some odd reason, she drew in more watchers. From that fanbase came Nurse Witch Komugi-chan; Produced by the same company as Popotan. The genera being a magical girl show. If you seen Popotan, you'd understand just how bad this truly is. Then came Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan. Overly (and I mean overly) bloody anime that mixes in extremely cute factors, smothered with lolicon and paedo related material.

And now what does 2006 bring? Why, that would be Dai Mahou Touge--an overly violent magical girl show.

Well, you might want to look the way of this codec (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Matroska_Pack.htm), although I'm not sure if that's exactly what you wanted, but it's the best I can do. (Works for me, although I rarely watch anything in mkv format).

VLC and MKV are arch enemies. Why? Well VLC has a very very old version of the MKV codec and newer versions of MKV are typically unsupported.

That being said, you should then go to Direct Show Codecs. Basically these codecs are designed for a specific standard and enable you to view specific video files. A h264 codec will enable you to watch x264 and h264 encoded video files (which are found in MKV files), A XVID codec will allow you to play just about any Divx encoded video file, AAC allows you to listen to Surround Sound audio files (also found in MKVs), DirectVobSoft will enable you to use soft subtitles (which are almost always on OGM or MKV files). The only thing about using Direct Show Codecs is that you need a direct show video player (the most popular being Media Player Classic; the second being BSPlayer).

After a while, the number of codecs you need to download to view certain videos would become quite a daunting task. There is a quick solution to all of this.

Combined Community Codec Pack (www.cccp-project.net/) (CCCP) - Has every video, audio codec that is needed to watching anime related video files. I can guarentee you that you will not run into a problem when it comes to anime. CCCP has it all covered.

K-lite Codec Pack (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm) - This literally has every codec out on the market fit into itself. Be it audio, video, or an ATARI midi file, this codec pack has it all. I don't recomend this one because of the pure number of codecs included. If you don't understand how to configure a certain type of codec, you could run into a conflict causing even further problems in regards to the media.

And for us linux people, we don't need to worry about all of this. We have the wonderful encoder/video player Mplayer (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/news.html). Works like a dream on every and any video/audio file you throw at it, provided you install it the right way (after placing the codecs and GUI files where they belong (if you can't find out how or where they should be located, you shouldn't be using Linux) install using the following commands
svn checkout svn://svn.mplayerhq.hu/mplayer/trunk mplayer
cd ./mplayer/[/I]
./configure --enable-gui --enable-ass --enable-largefiles --enable-runtime-cpudetection
make This will take a while (~15 min)
make install

And you'll have yourself a working mplayer installation.

I want to rant in a thread, but it's a little off the topic, so I'll put it in here to be lost forever :rukia:

You know... When I went through school... You were called a good or bad person. You were commonly found about a group of people whom were called your "friends". There was no "Oh that's the Goth group!" or "Dude, that guy is Scene!" or whatever the hell this all means. Your character wasn't subdivided into catagories like you were an insecet waiting to be catalogued, nor did you try to be in any peticular one of those catagories, or even try to seek them out because of their traits.

So many people are trying hard to gravatiate to these newer fashions via peer pressure. Just look at the posters at an American Eagle store. It's plastered with a certain group. While if you go into Hot Topic, you see an entirely different type, and, yet further, if you go into a sports store, you see yet another group. It is to the point where some of these cliques are down right humourious. For an example, take the Emo. This classification was derrived from the punk/cool cliques, and were overly emotional about themselves. You'd commonly hear the words "Oh! I have it far worse than anybody else!" or "I can't take the stress anymore!!!" or they just break out crying for no reason, from these people, all the time and at anytime. When--in fact--they are just trying to grab attention. Over dramatizing everything to the point where it is part of who you are. Sad excuse for a persona in my opinion.

I think that the lister than comes up with these sub-catagories of human behavior needs a break. There's enough out their right now; no need to work any harder on this.

@RD: I do speak up. But they keep on emplying that "Oh you need some exposure to the outdoors. It's not healthy to stay inside all day long". My case really is a double edged sword. I'm allergic to grass, pollen, weeds, milk, dust, trees, mold, certain forms of fabrc (mainly synthetic), bleach, other types of cleaning chemicals, and--more than likely--everything else. My outdoor alergies are far worse than my indoor allergies, so I tend to say indoors a lot more. By a lot more I mean all day everyday unless I have to go to school. They find that unhealthy (which it very much is) so they try to force me outside. So I really can't disagree with them. It's just a matter of my tolerance.

And that's my story.

I think sub cultures are good. I mean, its all great if everyone just hangs out and gets along with everyone, but with cliques (yes, you spelled it wrong M...) you have a closer connection with others.

I have friends that are totaly diffrent. We all get along though. Im this geek who looks scene and has little tollorance. One of my best friends is a mega PETA-vegan girl. Another is a jock girl. And a bunch are death metal fans. Then theres a few who are "goth" but love anime.

We all get along.

The only muse song i like is Time is Running Out, the rest of their songs sound alike with the bass and the same tone of voice

EDIT: I just recieved this email from my mom, it's in tagalog so I'll translate it for you. It's about a biker's ghost story in the Philippines.

This story happened a few months ago along the Tagaytay Road. There was a guy who got left behind by a pack of mountain bikers. The group was large and he didn't bring a cellphone. He crashed his bike somewhere between Picnic Grove and DBP. To make things worse, a storm came in. So he walked.

This guy was on the side of the road hitch hiking on a very dark night in the middle of a storm. The night passed slowly and no cars went by. The storm was so strong he could hardly see a few meters ahead of him.

Suddenly, just before the junction going to Manila, he saw a car slowly looming, ghostlike, out of the gloom. It slowly crept toward him and stopped. It was raining hard, wind blowing all around you, what would you do?

Like you would, he got into the car and closed the door, then realized that there was nobody behind the wheel.

The car slowly started moving again. The guy was terrified, too scared to think of jumping out and running. The guy saw that the car was slowly approaching a sharp curve.

The guy started to pray, begging for his life; he was sure the ghost car would go off the road and he would plunge to his death, when just before the curve, a hand appeared through the window and turned the steering wheel, guiding the car safely around the bend.

Terrified, the guy watched the hand reappear every time they reached a curve. Finally, the guy gathered his wits and leaped from the car and ran to the nearest place where there were houses.

Wet and in shock, he went into a store and voice quavering, ordered two bottles of beer, and told the people about his horrible, supernatural experience. A silence enveloped everybody when they realized the guy was apparently sane and not drunk.

About half an hour later two guys walked into the same store.
One says to the other..........
"There! There's the moron who got in the car while we were pushing it!"

Question:

So my dog (Pomeranian of ten years) today, and about a few days before (but today the most) started to randomly shriek every now and then, and I mean shriek. Like a howl. Like a dog does when he's just been clipped on the toenail too low. If that makes sense. But anyways, so I put him in his cage every night, and this is the only night where he actually started shrieking after I put him in his cage. And it's not only when he's in his cage, when I let him out this afternoon after I got back from school, he shrieked short little ones... and then after he calmed down, he didn't shriek until after I put him in his cage for the night. It was crazy. Anyone know what this problem is? Is it age? Because he has no other observable health problems: He eats regularly, he doesn't walk with a limp, breathes, exercises... and more. Bah. I'm at a rut. I'm no dog expert. >_>

Oh, and he pees about once a week... I'm beginning to think it's age. But I have never heard about old dogs start shrieking...

Well, if I where you, I'd follow the scientific and most logical route.

Every time he shrieks, you should shock him with a shocking prod, or induce some sort of pain. After a while, he'll get the idea, and stop.

Some find that a fine way to train a pet but I think its wrong. If you dont do it to a child why is it okay with anything else?

The constant shreeking may be because of an event that scared the dog. Seeing how its only when he is in the cage. Moving his sleeping area/home closer to you or closer to other people might help him feel safer or somthing because things dont scream and cry for no reason.

VLC and MKV are arch enemies. Why? Well VLC has a very very old version of the MKV codec and newer versions of MKV are typically unsupported.

That being said, you should then go to Direct Show Codecs. Basically these codecs are designed for a specific standard and enable you to view specific video files. A h264 codec will enable you to watch x264 and h264 encoded video files (which are found in MKV files), A XVID codec will allow you to play just about any Divx encoded video file, AAC allows you to listen to Surround Sound audio files (also found in MKVs), DirectVobSoft will enable you to use soft subtitles (which are almost always on OGM or MKV files). The only thing about using Direct Show Codecs is that you need a direct show video player (the most popular being Media Player Classic; the second being BSPlayer).

After a while, the number of codecs you need to download to view certain videos would become quite a daunting task. There is a quick solution to all of this.

Combined Community Codec Pack (www.cccp-project.net/) (CCCP) - Has every video, audio codec that is needed to watching anime related video files. I can guarentee you that you will not run into a problem when it comes to anime. CCCP has it all covered.

K-lite Codec Pack (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm) - This literally has every codec out on the market fit into itself. Be it audio, video, or an ATARI midi file, this codec pack has it all. I don't recomend this one because of the pure number of codecs included. If you don't understand how to configure a certain type of codec, you could run into a conflict causing even further problems in regards to the media.

And for us linux people, we don't need to worry about all of this. We have the wonderful encoder/video player Mplayer (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/news.html). Works like a dream on every and any video/audio file you throw at it, provided you install it the right way (after placing the codecs and GUI files where they belong (if you can't find out how or where they should be located, you shouldn't be using Linux) install using the following commands
svn checkout svn://svn.mplayerhq.hu/mplayer/trunk mplayer
cd ./mplayer/[/I]
./configure --enable-gui --enable-ass --enable-largefiles --enable-runtime-cpudetection
make This will take a while (~15 min)
make install

And you'll have yourself a working mplayer installation.
