External harddrives are quite cheap these days. Go for it!

Don't get maxtor, maxtor sucks. Western Digital and Seagate are pretty good, even if seagate bought maxtor a few years ago.

Toshiba is good too, you can even get password protection for those.

No wonder I saw a maxtor 500gb external hard drive for about $100 XD
I suppose I could go get a SimpleDrive 250gb external hard drive. It's on sale for $89 and the reviews I read about it were pretty good :3

There's mental training to create mind mapping, there's meditation to understand character and possiblilty, and there's always a Raidho for supernatural methods.

As much as I don't believe it, ever since I got my Raidho (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rune) (ᚱ) --- 8th grade --- my ability to think has increased quite a bit, and helped with premonitions and is to a level that I can read body and vocal language to predict outcomes and possiblities.

People say that if you wear a particular rune, your and other energies are routed through the rune. Basically, it's one element of magick and the beginning of Craft usage.

They're a business; it's something all businesses do. If you were in their position, you'd do the same. I find nothing wrong with it, personally. After all, I'm looking forward to the movie. ;)

Also, it's not like Gainax doesn't spend a lot of money as it is; the animation they put out is gorgeous, and as a result, they're always going over-budget with their anime. If they want to milk their milkcow, let them. It'll just result in even better animation from them. (Or higher bonuses for their executives - hahah!) I'd be fine even if it were the latter; it's not like they're forcing people to buy into what they put out. If they can make ridiculous amounts of money with what they make, then more power to them. They're obviously doing something right.

Even stale food can taste good, provided it has an especially good flavor. :3

Edit: I'm getting good at figure sketching ridiculously fast. If I didn't know any better, I'd say I was a genius...
I don't know any better, hahah! ;D

I know theres a couple of Gamecube projects, but they havent been extremely successfull. Im also curious as to if this is because of lack of developers and stuff or if because hardware isnt up to par.

Thanks for the input everyone :P

Both. The PS2 takes liberty in its own assembly language for data storage — direct to register memory — that doesn't get processed by the BIOS ROM (they call this bus mastering in computers). Various other methods were used as well for the algorithm processing that makes it very, very hard to decode into an emulator, as it needs not only the console's BIOS for running the emulator, but also an abstraction layer that can take the signals of the system's assembly instructions and translate them to encapsulated instructions to the threaded process.

This is why to run a PS1 game through a emulator takes a computer that is about eighteen times the specs of a PS1 just to run it smoothly. This is just two generations back. Imagine doing an emulator for the Wii, 360, or.... Meh. The last system sucks so bad I'll just leave it off.

Translated:

The PS1 takes a lot of work to get working, and it takes more than what is required for it to run on a computer. Inherently, a PS2 would require more work than the PS1.

Final Fantasy and MGS will make the PS3 a must-buy for me when they come out. Bluray is a good help, too.
Free online is also nice. Nippon Ichi games make me smile.

HD-DVD is pretty much already dead. Bluray is what everyone is going to need to buy to get their movies soon. I think people buying the PS3 over the 360 is a pretty obvious prediction to make...

And the Wii will probably keep on selling at the ridiculous rate is has been all along.
On a related note, I can't wait to play Smash Brothers tomorrow. I love the series so much. :3

It's indeed epic. XD I been playing it since it got out yesterday at my friend's house but I can FINALLY play it at home tomorrow when I go to EB games at the mall and buy my own wii. So far I been playing w/ Meta Knight (you just got to love the swiftness in his attacks and his cape when it turns into bat wings even if it's a bit hard to ko people) but I'm still playing around to see who I'll main. It's a lot better than Melee in my opinion since everyone is more balanced. Even characters like Bowser are a force to reckon w/ now and characters like Shiek and Fox won't make you feel like putting down the controller. Also, thanks to wave dashing being taking out (since now you can't use your air dodge to change trajectory) it was fun playing a match w/ friends w/out the old "wash dash and only attack w/ the a button/reflector/etc" routine.

Yeah, the game is definitely balanced much better now. I was playing with bowser today, and it was like "Wow, he doesn't totally suck anymore! I could actually use him to beat people if I wanted to!" The new adventure mode is also fun; I'm going through it with my brother right now. It's a cool way to try out all the characters, hahah. :3

@ HC: I laughed when one of my friends won a match and Ike said, "I fight for my friends." XD It's just the way how he says it that almost makes me burst out laughing. :neko: But yeah, that's why I like this one more than Melee. You can ACTUALLY play basically anyone and stand a chance, unlike in Melee where some characters are so underpowered, it really was pointless to fight, esp matches like Bowser vs Shiek. (for people who don't play Melee, Shiek would combo the hell out of Bowser. >.< ) I read in my booklet that you can actually play on-line w/ this. Has anyone who played this game tried that yet? I think I can but I'm not sure what's the least amount of connection speed I would need. (has dail up) Also, I heard that if you play random matches, you'll only play 2 min matches but if you share wii codes or ...something (w/e it is) you can set it to stock matches and etc.

Feh. calming down a bit, after a bottle of vodka and a few more phonecalls later, they're giving in - They're trying to deal with me before police gets involved, so tomorrow I'm out all day giving out info about (former) friend while we(me+ loan company) try to hunt the fag down.

Money involved made it sound serious as hell, but I think I can relax now. They know it was a supreme screwup and if I take it to the court I'd win flat out, so.. meh =_=

Well technically I haven't "lost" any money, he just tried to run off with a loan and dump it on me. But then if this goes through properly, he'll just end up with the loan being under his name as it should be, and probably a fine.

Actually, it was decided upon the fact that they were the only members of the group at the time ^_^ I was overseas and bored so I stuck everyone as admin who WAS a member, which happened to be them, because they got nagged at first ;)

EDIT: Oh and I joined facebook so I'd have a hope in hell of knowing what was going on at home while I was travelling, and so I could try and keep in touch with a few of the people I met en-route - since emails aren't many people I know's strongpoint!

That's bullshit. I use it to keep in touch with people who I don't see often.

Rant, which kind of make sense, yet not; then again, I may be insane as well:
Social Networking sites emphasis the fact that you can distance yourself from someone and keep in contact utilizing their services. If you don't see them often, then, in my book, that's not a friendship. That's just a memory which you choose to hold on to in your mind.

The fact of the matter is that if you don't see someone in person for three years, is that person still your friend if you kept in contact through a form that isn't metaphysical? Your emotions will tell you yes every time, but in the deepest parts of your mind, you know that the person/people you don't see, do not matter to you. Rather, the people you talk to through these utilities, are simply time wasters. Things to do. Entertainment for boredom. It's quite an interesting psychological/philosophical dilemma, because it argues one of the key aspects of persuasion, but uses the other two to prove validity.

Now, for the people you talk to on these sites that you see everyday, that's a bit of a different situation. This is more along the line of "everyone jump on this bandwagon and see how many we can fit" syndrome. The statement: everyone has a myspace or facebook; it's common. But why does everyone have one? Is it really necessary to have a myspace or facebook? No. More so, people use this system to force others to get onto the system, which then tries to make everyone a big happy myspace family.

What do these networks provide? You can create networks, groups, announcements, post blogs, pictures, opinions, even play music, videos, and games through these services. Once again, is this really necessary? Materials like these should be experienced in the physical realm, not the digital. It seems like every other day I hear someone talking drama on a social network blog, and publicly displaying it simply to cause problems or try to create some form of reaction. Much which could be better said to face, as it wouldn't snowball to a larger situation due to the speed of such networks.

About the only good thing that Social Network websites have done is allowing to share images, and creating groups in which you can post announcements in (e.g. you're a part of a local writing club and a meeting cancellation was posted to all group members); even then, this is just mashing eMail and Flickr together. Everything else has: 1) Already been done, or 2) No point. To continue the list, these social sites also: 3) causes un-necessary issue and debate as technology lacks the finesse physical communication has, 4) creates a form of elitism by right of mass distribution, and 5) (this is a capstone for all points) Creates frustration for me.

I could go on and on and on about how idiotic Social Networking sites are just "more of the same". In fact, this forum itself is like social networking sites. One big difference, though: it lacks the uselessness of these other big named networks. It also forces a user to not simply go "OMG NEW PERSON ADDADDADD!" because a forum is not designed for "linking communications". Rather, a forum's purpose is to have a group of experts hold debates and reports on topics, where others can watch and possibly add comments to the topic at hand.

At-which-point I've flawled into a different topic. The fact of the matter is that these networks have a "friends" feature which tries to introduce you to new people with "similar" interests. That means Joh Pædo a 14 year old going on 40, female whom is a part of some indy rock group that you're a part of looks at your profile and tries to be friends with you. I'm not saying this is bad. I'm saying this is superfluous. They changed a site to hold information into match.com.

And people actually join these networks BECAUSE they can meet people there!

Thus we've arrived at my claim; albit sluggish and with disjunct proof. But hey, I'm working on a 56 hour day right now — which has been a euphoria of coding, physics, and random outbursts of nerf gun attacks (hosted by me) at my underlings, radical thoughts on how to take over the college's physics department, brief moments of insanity, and outbursting unidentified onomatopoetic syllables of frustration — and the world's still a-flyin'.

I never mentioned the word friends now did I (yes, I stopped reading at the first line).

I live 240 KM from my birth place. It takes me two and a half hours to drive there (without stops) and the same to get back. That's about 50 euros of petrol (75 USD). Do you think I can go visit them every day or even every week? I could phone them all, but that would also cost a bunch. I have them in my MSN, but we aren't online at the same time. So I can drop them messages on Hyves (dutch facebook) and that way still be in touch with them. It's perfect since I spend all my days on an internet computer at work.

I don't care what you think M, to me, sites like facebook are a nice addition to other means of contact.

HanTony

Family and friends live 200 miles away except during the holidays. If I want to have friends to go back to then the least I can do is keep contact with them, blogs allow this.

Today I had a phone call in an office from a total bitch. Firstly, she was yelling over the phone asking if there were job vacancies. Problem is, she don't bloody know what the job position was and also she has called to the FUCKING wrong group for the department! Futhermore, I DON'T FUCKING DO HIRING! My ear hurted from hearing her goddamn voice. Seriously, what is wrong with those people, you could at least ask politely if you are looking for a job? It isn't as if I own her a living. She'll definitely get a fucking rejection letter if she come for an interview. There are lots of shitty people that keep calling the wrong extension number, I am going to kill the phone. Anyway, I have confirmed that your attitude to HR people will make or break you.
