Why is it that when you multiply two vectors together, the result is just a real number?
It seems kind of arbitrary to me, but obviously it's not.

And do vectors in programming and vectors in "regular math" work differently? The Vector3 class in C# is just an array that holds three numbers...an x,y, and z I guess. Three points don't make a vector in regular math, but I thought C# just took those three points and connected them to the origin or something to make a vector. So I thought they'd work the same. But I have people on /b/ telling me that Vector3s can be multiplied like so:

(a,b,c)*(d,e,f) = (ad, be, cf)
And I'm pretty sure that "regular" vectors can't be multiplied like that. Am I wrong? I'm confused at least. Help please. XP

Vector to regular math is to Multivariate Calculus to Calculus. Vector math is actually an applied form of Linear Algebra, which is the study of discreet structures.

Essentially, you can find a single magnitude (Has a name I can't remember) that can represent the entire matrix of values. The sole purpose of doing this is to make many computations down to one with a one shot equation. Could you imagine preforming algebra on a matrix that was 80x80? It's infeasible to preform graphically, as we can only interprate 3d objects, and utterly insane to try on paper. BUT! if you could change the dimension of that massive structure, you could make that more usable.

It's like how you can find the gcd of extremely large numbers by using a remainder. Like how gcd(168^25,396^21) is simply 2^58*3^25. It's quite amazing if you take the time to look at it.

The two computing programs I use for maths are R and Maple. For some statistics I also use miniTab.
The computing modules are ok since all you need to do is learn how to use them efficiently. All I seem to do right now is make and use procedures for Maple.

Well thats enough about maths. I have a maths lesson to go to >.<

And a group of my friends have been known to wear collars, and on occasion leashes (and at one point, crawl around on all-fours all day, but that was a dare), so I don't think there's anything particularly odd about it, and it's discrimination to disallow a person access to public transport, no matter what you might think of their personal choices.

And quite frankly, I was shocked by what a big deal people in England make of people having different coloured skin - England: "oh, those are the asian family living in this neighbourhood". Australia: "Oh yeah, that's just our neighbours." We see loads of cultures every day, but it's all Australian culture, no matter where it may have originally come from.

I run XP Pro. My Hard drives are WD Caviar SE SATA 3.0 but my mother board only supports SATA 1.5 I don't know if with a RAID controller I can run SATA 3.0 or not.

I'm looking to spend no more than $25 (without shipping). I don't need one with all the bells and whistles; I just need one that will work and keep working...for a long time.

True, cheap cards don't have a dedicated processing chip so they rely on your CPU, making the system slower and having poor harddisk performance on top of that. Save up some extra money and get a proper SATA card.

But, you must have a really old computer if you don't have SATA connectors. my motherboard is 4 years old or so and has SATA connectors.

Maybe an external USB harddrive is an option? You can buy external harddisk casings in which you can place 2 HD's which will be in RAID1 or RAID0

I have SATA connectors, it's just that I only have two and I need one more for my optical drive. :heh: (The microATX isn't such a good idea anymore...if it ever was...)

Any suggestions on a card then?

Though, haikus are naturally easy to make, as you only need to worry about three things: a seasonal term, a cutting word, and the staple 5-7-5 hometer.

It's very clear that I like things that involve mental anguish in some form far more than I do of things that are ``happier''. There are times when I laugh that I should not laugh. Thoughts that I have that I shouldn't have. I hate hurting myself, yet the pain of others brings joy. A series of feelings that mix in a form that is simply not natural. I cannot understand why it is that I find things that are broken beautiful.

Is it, perhaps, the fact that it is not perfect? If that was so, why is it that I dislike all things that are not of good quality? Frustration, turmoil, abnormality seems to leave me with a more pure and far more rich feeling inside myself that is more pleasant than any other emotions. It's far worse than any of the paramnesia I've had before.

Did I lose my Raison d'Amor/d'Etre? I don't think I have. I've been respectively and honorably holding dear my girlfriend and proceeding with my work to the point of utter perfection, cascading into my other relations and activities. Yet I am not satisfied with simply working at these two. I want to hold them both in my hand, often creating more work for me.

Perhaps a dabble on my sixth to change the person I am, but that change doesn't feel right. The society and my persona are clashing ethically. I had thought that I reached a moral crisis of Despair, skipping completely over Generativity. Now I fear a bit of psychosis and psychopathy.

I even tried looking to the past to find why or how I would become like this. I know I've been ignored around 15 years of age, and was outcast by my high school. I attacked the internets, which offered a massive boredom and social catalyst. None of these would lead to such callous malice. Even considering when I sought out help with identity confusion just two years ago, I cannot see any firm or strong desire of any real negative emotions.

Yet why. Why is it that I'm drawn to that which is painful to others? Even moreso, why do I need to find reason to feel this way? I'm to a point where I accept the world for what it is, and appreciate all aspects, so why should issue come to my head? The only thing I can think of is that I've yet to reach that of where I am.

I can only conclude that I've missed something important, and either I can't remember or wasn't mature enough to feel it out. And if that's wrong, then what of all the memory training I've done? What of all the mental conditioning for creating and conveying? The countless nights where I broke my mind through hypnotism to make myself stronger. Is all the things I've done and understood thusfar been.... incorrect? If they are, then I fear for the worst in what I am and who I will become. I can only hope that this is one of my yearly mental crashes that simply come and go.

What's even worse, is I wrote something about this in a poem a year or so back, and it seems to be flowing true to it. It's like I knew that something was wrong, and I couldn't express it to myself in a clear way.
