WRONG! It's actually SMB (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samba_(software)), which IS platform independed that does the writing over networks; offerening a pseudo universal filesystem. And for a global filesystem, there's a general toolkit called FUSE. NTFS works under all *nix systems already too. All you need to do is edit your mount points (remove type=ro), or you can install ntfs-3g; which uses the FUSE abstraction set to load. Reiserfs, ext3, vfs, or jfs are basically impossible on windows without external software, because they feel that they are --- I believe the word they used was --- "deficient" file system in comparison to windows filesystem types; and would only add size to the windows kernel.

a system of sorts should be implemented, hell I think even for a fee, most students would be willing to have a copy of the presenters voice and his presentation.

We can get the slideshow on the internet about a week after the lecture but this was the first lecture so i'm just ignoring him. I really dislike this guy.

University is business. They get paid from extracting money from students, not doing what's best for students.

It already does. It's called a webcast, or a webanar. I have that for two of my classes.

I have a student portal for all that stuff. If only all teachers bothered putting the lectures up.
