But I don't have a scanner, sadly, and it's in my sketchpad. So you'll have to wait for the painted version, which I want to do before I go to bed tonight, but probably will end up doing around Friday instead. It's kind of okay though I guess, since the picture I have right now is only a shoulders-up sketch, and her outfit is going to make her extra cute. X3
I'm really proud of her design though. This is the first time I've tried to design my own character, and she came out really adorable, by any standards, let alone my (very) low personal standards.

She's an angel for the game I'm making, so I wanted her to be...you know, cute. So I wanted her to be kind of messy/overly enthusiastic looking, but then she kept on coming out too messy looking. (Kind of like a Tomo-chan, I guess? That kind of vibe) It took five hours, but I finally got her to look cute and messy without actually looking messy. She looks refreshing now, somehow, like an angel should. And...I could talk about it forever, because I'm so happy with it. I'll just have to show it to you as soon as I finish the painted version. :3

There's a distinct reason why I'm mad about this, and I don't care if others don't understand this:

Microsoft is currently the best --- without a doubt --- when it comes to office products. Why is that? Simple. They used blanketing procedures and made themselves big (see America Online in the US). They made it so that everyone uses MSO, and now almost every document is a Microsoft Office document. Now, if it were to open the file standard, where people can openly view the files innards, imagine the possibilities.

Others could develop with microsoft office integration.
OO.org would no longer have problems with opening a word document.
People could figure out ways to "Hack" the OOXML to do more than what it was supposed to do.
Fix/recover unfixable files by editing the XML or extracting the core from the XML.

I remember trying one called Library a few years ago. It's basically the same as Internet but only one person can look at each site at a time and you have to physically find them all yourself. It's really hard!

Indeed, that's usually the case. I could do it that way too, but then I'd have to make double the sprites. (I'd have to make the normal sprites, and then all of their corresponding transparency maps.) Instead, GM is supposed to be able to use the built-in transparency PNGs have built into them, which would save me a ton of effort if it actually worked. It's not working right now though, lol. =D

Hah, thanks for the tip. I wish that was the problem, but it's not. D:
I actually didn't have the alpha channel on for about an hour, but then I noticed that problem and fixed it. It still didn't do anything though. There's two ways to assign a sprite to an object in Game Maker. The first way is the normal easy way that everyone uses. You just go to the resource tree and say "stick this sprite on this object."
The second way is the hard way, where you have to use incredibly badly documented (GM comes from Sweden I think? The help manual reflects that painfully clearly.) code snippets to assign your sprites the good old fashioned way. (With actual code, lol.)

I'd use the first method, but it doesn't support PNG files, as the second method does. Ah well. I'm just working on other things while I wait for help. I have a lot of other stuff (as in, a whole game) to work on while I wait, anyway. =D

It's annoying though, because it only takes like three lines of code to get the sprite working. I just don't know what they are, because the code manual is so badly written. I read basically the whole thing today, and nothing explains it. (At least, not well enough to be useful.)

I should have saved his body as one piece, and then just drawn the wings on each time. I redrew him for each frame, which is why he's a little spazzy looking. Lesson learned! I just watched a few of the major fight scenes from Gurren Lagann again, and I couldn't stop laughing through any of them. Not because they're funny or anything like that - because they're so incredibly, ridiculously, totally badass. They're so completely uplifting that they don't just make me smile, they make me laugh out loud with joy, crying manly tears while doing so.

Not that I'm using MS Paint. I'm using Graphics Gale, which is like MS Paint mixed with a cool piece of animation software. It draws the same way MS Paint does, though. You can't mix colors or anything like that.
It has some really nifty features to speed things up though, so I'm having fun using it. The animation part of it is really nice, too. =D

The "rock" was drawn first, then the flower, then the sword, and then the chest. At least I'm getting better with each drawing, I think.

I am undecided as to whether or not I like Vampire Knight. I like the authors work from Meru Puri, but it's getting so angsty....Though Zero and Kaname are love. Haven't seen the anime yet, however.
