After they expel that creepy old dude because after all, he wasn't a student here, you're alone in the lab again and ichigos/whateverthingyoudoonthenetwhenyou'reboredandhaveso mefreetimeforachange isn't there anymore to keep you sidetracked from doing your end o' the year ASSignment.

And my birthday was great. I'm so much better at programming, now that I've read a full book from beginning to end, instead of just trying to build programs while pretending that I know anything about the language. All of the huge and impossible problems I faced before seem laughably easy now. I feel like a genius instead of a retard now. It's so great! XD

And just for the record, I feel like a programming genius because the stuff I'm doing is laughably easy. It's just that I couldn't do anything before, so I'm happy that I'm at least able to do basic things now.

Solid advice, and I fell into the trap you just mentioned with this program I'm working on. I knew my giant-ass methods and do-everything-the-program-needs classes were horrible programming practices, but I kept saying things like "well, this is easier for now; I'm saving like five lines of typing!" and "I'm sure it'll be fine! This program isn't even going to do much! How confusing could this code possibly get? I'd have to be retarded to worry about keeping things nice and modular! I'LL JUST WRITE THE WHOLE PROGRAM IN ONE BLOCK, HAHAHAHAHA!!!~!"

Now I know how foolish I was. X3
The good news is that the program is basically done. I just need to make it able to save your progress, and then I can move onto something else. Hurray!

Edit: Nevermind, I'm retarded. Problem solved, thanks to some kind fellow over at the Creator's Club forums. My clock took a reference of type Form1 as an argument in its constructor. If you go to Footscray, you can buy cheap fabric there for about $4 per square meter or other stuff. You might want to ask your mum to help you to use the sewing machine. Umm.... I'd say about 4 square meter is more than enough material. The shoes/boots might have to be bought, but my brother made an ANBU cosplay and he made his own shoes with the help of my mum. MUM'S R TEH BEST! :lol:

Another fun and long email message for you to digest. One way or another, I think this topic will come up and I feel like I should inform you of what exactly occurred. I pecked around and obtained the story from all the involved parties: Geeta, a student in the WSW computer lab, and Ryan himself. I’ll go through what happened chronologically. If you want more information, Beth and Raji was informed of all of this as well as VanDuren as he was in the office at the time.

He first dealt with me.

Around 7p tonight, Ryan of the helpdesk called our office asking for assistance on “setting up” the Distance learning lab 1101 – which does not exist, he meant 1107 – as it was after the start time of the class and he was trying to connect to his professor’s broadcast. I daftly explained that we don’t support that room and that he would have to call up OEL for assistance. He then said that he was a part of the helpdesk, and asked me if OEL was even open. I told him there should be a person on call that could help him with the problem. He then said that this problem isn’t under OEL, as they do blackboard, and tried to assure me that I was the right person for this call. I then explained that we do nothing with broadcasts and, again, explained that he had to call OEL. He then started to nag me to come over there and that he just needs a password. Then I told it to him flat: “I’m not trying to be abrupt or rude, but even if I were to go over to that lab, I wouldn’t be able to do anything more than turn equipment on and off with the exposed power switches. You need to call OEL.” He took that one and eventually hung up.

Apart from being persistent, confused, and a little on the edge, I didn’t have much problems with him.

Then came another call. This one was from a student inside the WSW lab. I wish I had got her name for you. What she had to say is that a “Ryan” came into the computer lab not too long ago and was inappropriate, loud, and making obscene gestures with his hands. The student also mentioned that he kept trying to pull rank. She wanted to get more information about him and asked about how she could deal with the problem. I mentioned that she could call public safety and have them check it out. She then asked for some more identifying information about Ryan. In which, I went in search for his full contact information on the ITS page. After not seeing it up there, I started to get second thoughts and removed the student that called from the situation and said “I’ll get the information and handle the situation for you”. She seemed happy with this, and handed the phone over to the labstaff currently working (Geeta). I asked her for her opinion, which I asked again later in more detail, and then disconnected.

At this point, we checked a little further and found that Ryan was a part of ITS under ITC, verified by Outlook in the Groups tab of the personal information. I then consulted Raji if I should call Safety about the issue, or give him a warning. Raji said it would be best to keep this as an internal dispute for ITC’s reputation. So I headed over to the White building.

After not finding room 1101, I went up to the computer lab to ask Geeta again for her opinion. She said he was loud and kind of rude, but there were no obscenities or hand gestures. Geeta requested for Ryan and her to take a step out of the lab, but he refused twice. Then the student that called asked him to keep it down a bit, and he said “I don’t have to listen to you”. Then asked her what she felt about the situation and she said there wasn’t really anything wrong done, other than he was rude.

So at this point, with the information I had, I went down to 1107 to inform him about the problem. I pulled him from class and explained who I was to him. I then addressed that he caused a problem in the lab and went though the problems with him and told him to relax a bit. I then got his side.

He said that the student which complained to him was complaining when he was calling me, apparently when he was in the lab; slightly different from what Geeta told me. He also said that he has a hearing problem so he can’t tell how loud he is actually talking. At this point he actually introduced himself properly. I explained that I was just the messenger and that I did block public safety for him, but that he needs to take care in what he is doing and that there was a report sent in by a student. He also said, several times, that he was just trying to get the class running and that he wasn’t doing anything wrong. I then said that there was a problem, as we did get a report, and that there are at least two people saying that you were not being professional. He continued to say he did nothing wrong and then tried to protect himself saying thing like “I know you guys have all this litigation and politics and meetings and other things. I don’t want this to go any further.” At the end, I reminded him that I’m just a messenger. We shook hands after this and it was all done.

My personal impression of him was that he was hot blooded and head strong. He got riled up easily, all three times of contact, and was not professional in any of those cases. He also was very animate when talking. Perhaps the student that reported him saw that as negative gestures. Just for humor’s sake, I checked for any common trace of substance abuse when I was talking to him, and I didn’t notice anything, outside of his face being flushed slightly red.

And that about does it. Sorry for making it so long, but I didn’t want to miss anything.

A normal viewer would not give a crap, but a design lecturer would go crazy over it, when i spoke about it my lecturer loved the idea. it's all that fancy art crap and deeper meaning stuff that goes with design. A design can look amazing but if there's no reason or meaning behind the design then the whole concept is rendered useless. So for each thing to have meaning behind it adds to the design

Do keep in mind a Japanese person would look very funny at that, since it doesn't say "start movie" for example. 馬鹿 is baka btw :P

ok question, i guess it would be more aimed at miles but why is it takin so long for kara no kyoukai to bring out each episode i think its what 1 a month? and whats the relation between that and shingetsutan tsukihime?

Kara no Kyoukai was the archetype for Tsukihime. It's closer to say that Tsukihime was a modified version of Kakai on crack; that is, it was produced faster and in a parallel universe. Shiki Ryougi possesses the power to see the lines of fate, but it's far more evolved and developed than what Shiki Tohno has in Tsukihime. If you'd prefer, think of Ryou as being complete and Tohno as an incomplete possessor of Mystic Eyes of Death Perception,
as given to him unto the blood of his mother in the Tohno estate.

As for a timeline, I believe Kakai occurred before Tsukihime, and that the magnus that Tohno befriends for a week in Tsukihime is actually the younger sister of Touko Aozaki, current head of the Aozaki clan; whom is involved in the Holy Grail War found in the Fate series, and is the owner of the puppet shop in Kakai. The Aozaki clan is the main linker between all TYPE MOON stories.

The Tohno clan is a mixed blood clan which has the potential to becoming Oni, if the blood is activated.
The roots of the Tohno clan have yet to be reviled to me, though there is a visual novel by the name of Mahoutsukai no Yoru that is coming out soon that includes all events that proceed Tsukihime.

And they're taking so long on producing the movies because they want them in hella quality!

The way Kara no Kyoukai is written is very much different from the way the movie is portrayed. There's a lot of monologues and interesting thoughts; such as the intro line of the book from the Overlooking View arc:

The only features that remained were the dark black hair, and the pale, thin fragile looking limbs.

And that featureless, crushed face.

The whole scene reminded me of a flattened flower, tucked between the pages of an old book.

Probably because the corpse, with its neck bent unnaturally, looked like a broken lily to me...

He can be called two ways: Kokuto and Mikiya. I didn't like the sound of Kokuto, although I don't exactly know why. In the small silence that formed during my pondering, Mikiya clapped his hand as if he remembered something.

"That thing. The girl at the Fujoh building, the one they say is flying in the air. You said you saw it once too."

Oh, I remember now. The ghost story that started around three weeks ago. As the story has it, there's an expensive mansion in the office district called Fujoh building. At night, a human-like form could be seen floating above the building. The fact that not only myself but Azaka saw it too must mean the thing is real.

After being in a coma for two years from that traffic accident, I was able to see things that were not supposed to be there. As Touko would put it, I am not seeing them but rather "observing" them. In other words, it seems that I am able to perceive things at a higher level with my eyes and brain, but I don't care about all the reasons or explanations behind this.

"The thing at the Fujoh building, I saw it not only once but many times. Though I haven't been around there for a while, so I don't know if it can still be observed or not."

Mikiya responded, "I see. I go by there a lot, but I never saw the ghost."

"You can't see it 'cause you're wearing glasses."

"I don't think glasses matter," frowns Mikiya. His reaction was so warm and pure. That's probably why it's harder for him to see those kinds of things. Even so, boring incidents keep on happening like people falling and flying.

I didn't understand the meaning behind the thought, so I said a question out loud, "Mikiya, do you know why people fly?"

Mikiya shrugs.

"I don't know why they fly or fall," he said, "because I've never done them before, not even once."

Such a matter of fact, and so coolly said.

I'm still working on how this should exactly /sound/ in English. Right now, it's choppy, and nowhere as fluent as it should be.

Honestly, I prefer Takajun's version. There's nothing wrong with your version, but it does lose the vividness that came with his translation. Your version feels heavily westernized. Note that Kinoko Nasu often uses unorthodox expressions to describe things. It's something that gives his writing that fresh atmosphere.

That's fine if you have an intended audience in mind. I'm a big fan of Nasu and hate to see his writing style go. As you polish the translation I would be careful not to change the original content and intentions of the author. (Also, I don't know if he was tired of seeing the building street day in and day out.)

Some feedback you might want to consider.

That's why I'm still a work in progress. There's all kinds of perspectives written in that work, so I'm trying to emulate it while transporting it to English at the same time, with the greatest amount of fluency with minimal change; which I have found out in process that this is not an easy feat. It's still on it's second revision, though. I've been working on obtaining the japanese raws, and doing a third pass to make certain I didn't remove anything that is used later on in the book.

I know that on occasion, some random editor jumps in on the B-T wiki and edits in the sex of Shiki, or has some kind of revelation and changes all of the verb tenses to present, or even has some kind of odd vision that the "broken lily" line was actually "like a baby's face". In the long run, I hope that it'll be of decent quality.

...at least until delrey destroys it more than I do; which is supposed to be happening soon, and thus I'll never be able to make amends...

And I went to a party yesterday and couldn't talk to anybody at all. For some reason, I just completely hated everyone I came into contact with, including all of my friends. No matter what anyone did, I found them stupid and sophomoric, like I was at a party full of twelve-year-olds or something. It sucked really bad, because I just sat around being miserable the whole time. I had fun later on in the night, though, once I stopped hating everyone for no reason.

I hope I'm not turning into some kind of person who just hates everyone he meets. I don't know how much fun I could have if I couldn't stand being around anyone. X3
