I was so worried I'd make stupid mistakes because he was so annoying, but I didn't.

I did end up losing ten points in a stupid snapback I didn't see, though. My brain actually flagged it for me ("danger, connect there first!"), but I ignored it, deciding to play somewhere else to kill small group of his, even though I didn't need to. It was the end game though, and by then my lead was so large, I wasn't even trying anymore. I was just deciding my moves ahead of time, and clicking furiously on where I wanted to play, so that my move would always take place right after he played, lulz.
But, I held it together until I was sure I was going to win by a huge margin, so whatever. :3
I actually won all five of my games today, so hurrah.

Like just now I was taking a walk, and there were leaves scattered near the curb. My brain scanalyzed them and was like "Ah yes, white has good shape, but black's decision to invade there looks like a good one!" Stuff like that happens all the time, but with drawing and music and programming, and now it's happening with Go, too. From experience, it's a solid sign that I'll love Go too much from now on to ever stop playing it, so I'm very happy. :)

Also, my town was ridiculously pretty last night. It had rained earlier in the day, and I was walking over the main bridge in my town. They did something really cool, shutting off all the street lamps on the bridge, but keeping the Christmas lights vining up the light posts turned on. With the ground being all damp, and the area being really dark, besides all of the Christmas lights in the area, it was gorgeous. The reflections sparkling all over the bridge were breath taking. It looked like the inside of a really romantic anime painting or something. That also made me really happy. =D

Hmm, actually I didn't like EF at first as well. It just seemed so... without direction for the first few episodes. I actually watched the first episode, and postponed/dropped the series for like 2 months before going back to it. Good thing I did. The music alone was worth it =D
Still, once you get into like episode 4-5, everything becomes much more interesting. You're right about the character bit though. Personally I found Key's characters more endearing.

Unrelateable characters is kinda Minori's hamartia. But at the same time, being detached from the story also produces a unique effect.

I like it sephiroth, but your actor (you?) is kind of awkward looking when he's standing there frozen for long periods of time. With all the stuff flying around him, he actually takes up all the attention on the screen by just standing there staring ahead, which isn't a good thing. I would think of a way to get your man off the screen at the end of each transition, bringing him back on only when he needs to touch the screen. Maybe having him walk across the screen while making his gestures would be a good approach. He could bring up the menus while traveling across the screen, and then when he's finished his job, he can just continue on his way. I know you were going for the whole "he's some guy using a MR computer" thing, and making him just randomly walk on and off scene would hurt that idea, but having him stand there isn't the best, either. On second thought, just ditch the guy! Have a few hot girls walk on screen, mess around with the computer, wink, and then walk off to be hot somewhere else. Girls don't know what the hell they're doing with computers anyway, so having them just play around with it for a second only to leave would still make sense, I think.

That said, it's still pretty nifty.

Hmm, actually I didn't like EF at first as well. It just seemed so... without direction for the first few episodes. I actually watched the first episode, and postponed/dropped the series for like 2 months before going back to it. Good thing I did. The music alone was worth it =D

Woo, I think I beat a 10k player with a 4k handicap today!
He ended up winning in the end, but he marked a pretty big group of stones of his as alive when they were actually dead. The dumb thing is, I knew his stones in the corner were dead the whole game, but at the end of the game when he marked them dead, I said "they're not dead, it's seki." He laughed and unmarked them. After we ended the game with his victory of around twenty points, he pointed out my mistake. It's two am, and I'm really tired, but I'm pretty happy with the game. =D

I was tired the whole time, playing only on Gostinct, so I think I did okay for me.

The problem is that the algorithm is written in Maple, which is terribly notorious for being slow in addition to being hard on resources.

I just played my Go rival...he was no match for me anymore, hahah. The sad thing is, he's played about twenty games since we last played, and I've played about three. I beat him by around twenty points without even trying...it would have been more like sixty points, but I made a huge blunder because he kept on talking to me, and I kept talking back...it's hard to focus when you're ahead by so much. Anyway, the sad thing is, I saw the blunder coming five moves away, and did nothing about it for five moves straight - all I had to do was connect, and I had five chances to do it, hahah!
Oh well, it was a fun game. My rival is no more, though, unless he suddenly gets a ton better.
